Cameron's P.O.V

I could feel my pocket vibrating and I groaned a bit, pulling the phone out of my pocket. "Hello?" I said softly, not wanting to wake up Sam.

"Hello Cameron"an unfamiliar voice on the other end said.

"Um, hello?" I said, a bit confused as to who was calling me.

I heard a slight laugh on the phone as he cleared his throat. "Sorry, it's Dr. Owens. I just finished a session with Danny. He was asking about
James, so I thought I'd call and see if there had been any word"

I sighed softly and shook my head. "Not yet. They promised to let us know the moment they knew anything. And that's been hours" I said, growing angrier by the minute.

"Yeah, as soon as I hear something I'll let you know. How's Danny?" I asked, quietly so Sam didn't hear.

Dr. Owens sighed "well, he's as good as can be expected I guess." He began. "He having a hard time dealing with the fact he has an alter, and even harder time dealing with what said alter did to James"

I nodded and swallowed back my tears as I thought about Danny's face when he learned what had happened. "Will you please just tell him I love him. I think he needs to know someone is still on his side"

"Of course I will, cameron. I know that will mean a lot to him."

The conversation only lasted a few more moments before we said our goodbyes and I slid my phone back in my pocket.

It wasn't long until a doctor greeted us, saying he had information on James. It didn't take sam and I long to get to our feet and approach the young doctor.

"How is he?!" Sam asked, fear present in his voice.

"I'm going to be honest with you two" he began, and I could feel my heart drop. James was dead. He was gone and he was just trying to figure out a nice way to tell us.

"If you hadn't got him here when you did, I don't believe he would have made it." He said. "But I have reason to believe he is now going to make a full recovery" he added with a smile.

Sam's eyes filled with tears as he spoke "so he's okay?! When can we see him," he asked.

The doctor nodded and patted Sam's shoulder. "You can see him now. He's sleeping now and will probably be sleeping for awhile. We had to give him a sedative because he was very agitated. But if you want, I can take you both to his room now."

"That would be wonderful" I said, turning to give Sam a hug. "He's going to be fine, Sam. See, I told you not to give up"

Sam looked up at me through his tears "thank you for being here, Cameron. I don't know what I would have done without you.

I offered a smile as the doctor led us back to James' room. Taking a deep breath we opened the door and stepped inside.

He was lying on the bed, eyes closed as the monitors littered his body. I glanced over at Sam who looked like he was going to cry at any minute. I took his hand in mine and walked him closer to the bed.

"James, it's time to wake up bro" I said, running my finger along his hand.

It only took a few moments for his eyes to flutter open and a small smile graced his lips when he saw us standing there.

"I'm so glad to see you awake" Sam said finally, grabbing the drummers hand. "I love you. I love you so much, baby." He said, leaning down to press a soft kiss to his lips.

James mirrored the smile and gave Sam's hand a light squeeze "I love you too, baby." He said softly. His voice was low and raspy, probably due to the tube being down his throat.

I sighed softly and took a seat in the chair next to the bed. Shit. I need to call Dr. Owens. "I'll be right back guys" I said as I excused myself and stepped out in the hall.

I dialed the doctors number and waited for him to answer. "Hello?"

"Hey Dr. Owens this is Cameron. You asked me to call when I had any news about James. He just woke up and he's doing really well now." I said.

I could hear him let out a sigh of relief "thank god. Danny will be so relived." He said.

Danny. What was going to happen now that James was awake? Would he ever want to be around Danny again? Would Danny ever want to see James again? There were a million questions running through my head now and I was struggling to find an answer.

"Thank you for calling, Cameron. I'll be sure to let Danny know." He said.

We said our goodbyes and I hung up the phone, sliding it back in my pocket before heading back inside.
