Chapter 25
(A Courting we shall go)
Tori couldn’t help but feel excited as she quickly got dressed in a pair of shorts and a spaghetti strapped multi colored knit top. She was finally going to get to spend some time with River.Hearing a knock the door the blonde woman ran to the door and flew it open.
“River!” She said and threw her arms around his neck.
Any nervousness vanished from the blue eyed man as he felt Tori’s arms around his neck. He held her closely feeling like it had been months since he’d seen her; though it had only been days.
Tori reached down and kissed him. Not just a quick kiss but a lingering one. “I missed you,” She told him as the kiss ended.
“I missed you too.”
“Ruff!”
River looked down at the gift he’d given his intended and laughed. “Hey girl,” He said reaching down and scratching her ears. Athena wagged her tail and let out a happy bark. “We’ll take you next time but this time just Tori and me okay?”
Athena whimpered but sat down on her rump.
“I got her,” Warner said walking up.
“Thanks Daddy,” Tori replied. She kissed her father’s cheek and headed out the door with her fiancé.

River couldn’t keep the smile of his face as he and Tori enjoyed a picnic he’d surprised her with.
Tori noticed his constant smile and it made her feel good. They’d been through so much already and here they were facing more. She felt somewhat to blame but his smile told her River didn’t blame her at all.
The blonde woman picked up a grape and through it at him.
“Hey! What was that for?” The blue eyed man asked as it hit him in the mouth.
The green eyed girl shrugged. “Because I could.” She threw a second and getting up raced away into the woods.
“Tori!” Laughing the light haired brunette raced after her. It quickly became a game of hide and seek; laughter revealing each other’s whereabouts from time to time.

Logan was anything but pleased as he watched the two lovebirds carry on in fun. He hated seeing River anywhere near the blonde woman. Still he knew better than to interfere, especially when the Tribunal was watching. He knew they were witnessing the display even if no one saw them.
His enforcer’s would have to wait to make a move on the lord’s son until the Tribunal was busy watching Tori and Lucas together. They couldn’t find out what he’d planned against his brother’s competition.
“Enter,” The heir to the throne called hearing a knock on the door. The blonde man didn’t bother turning around to see who it was; he knew it was Bryn and Emilio.
“River didn’t waste time did he?” Emilio commented as he watched the two dart out of the woods and River tackling the blonde woman to the ground.
“He can have now,” Logan said less than enthused. “Lucas is planning dinner with her later on the balcony outside the 3rd floor library. Knowing him he’ll have it staged very well,” He added not hiding his approval.
“Do you want us to try and move on River tonight?” Bryn inquired.
“No. Watch his movements; learn his routines,” The High Prince replied. “I want his guard down before you strike. However if an opportunity is just too good to pass up I won’t complain.” The two men nodded and with a bow left their charge’s presence.
