Emptiness, everywhere. Blank and drowning, exactly what you hated. As you walked further to your library, past the sign which once signaled home that now bore words you could not comprehend, the signs on the side of the library no longer showing direction, but questions unanswered.
You were not going to panic immediately, and you went against what any mentally able person would have done (BITCH RUN???) and ventured further into your beloved library. The familiar elsen were no longer there, and the books almost looked more plastic than before.
"Where did everything go?" You wondered aloud.
Slowly, you ascended the flight of stairs up to the third floor into the corner of the room, where all your belongings still laid messily. They looked a little more moved about than when you left it though- some adversary must have gone through them. You sat down against the shelf, the once calming music around you turned to nothing but a disturbing silence.
People whispering in the background and a distant hushing. Something about Jesus Christ. Who is that? Something about God sending a puppeteer to purify the world. God, what is that? The books were frozen to the shelf, and it almost seemed like you too were turning paler-- you couldn't have been. You're a glitch, not a character.
If Zacharie knew what happened, he'd probably regret sending you away. You laughed to yourself, finding pride in knowing you were right. You sighed against the shelf and looked around the library.
Boring. Everything is boring.
Is this purification?
Whatever it was, you couldn't simply sit there and rifle your thoughts on whether or not the world was blank because that's what it really was beneath the facade of color. Just blank, and crawling with the spirits of what plagues it, all frozen into a choking existence.
Please don't go off on a philosophical journey, thank you.
You got up again and cut your losses, agreeing that what's gone is gone and you should just continue. It wouldn't be going against Zacharie if you just loitered a little, now would it? Thinking again, you weren't really obligated to listen to anything he said. He didn't make the world for you, and besides, this wasn't even the same world.
You wandered up the stairs, the sound of your footsteps echoing against the walls mysteriously missing, creating a silent vacuum. Exactly what you didn't need or want, and it made your insides churn. The stairway seemed so much longer now, and even your legs were almost giving out to the journey up which used to only take a few seconds. As you leaned against the wall, exhaling exasperatedly, your vision changed and a menu appeared with four options and standard text.
"Purification in progress..." It read, and you turned your eye to a huge, muscular baby and clenched your fists readily.
((Ay, it's been a while. Been kinda busy, what with SCHOOL and NOT HAVING THE WATTPAD APP. So here. Chapter is a little short, [very short!!] but honestly i feel kind of drained but the next one will be better. From here on out, the chapters will switch between POVs and even my author's note is badly written. Thanks. But whatever, I've already planned the story out roughly and how it's going to go, so get ready for the shitstorm.
