Chapter 11 Reunion

The days flew by after our shopping spree with Chloe, she had been calling Stephen non stop. he ignored all her call and only texted her once and told her that he had been busy. I spent a day jet-skiing all round the island, feeling the warm sun on my skin and having a blast with Lexie and Maddie. We had a tour with Nathan as he drove in the front with Lexie gripping on his body like a leech, she was scared of the sea and she only agreed to it because we were going. The rest of the guys had said that they wanted to sleep to recuperate from the the hangover they had been in since yesterday, and that included Brian.

Stephen on the other hand was no where to be found, he had left earlier that night and had not returned,  I grew worried! However, his absence did not stop me from having fun. By noon, Maddie and I were already tanned, we went to get something to eat and I went to grab a cigarette. My parents were supposed to be flying into town today but, i had not heard a word from them since a few days ago, i tossed the filter of the cigarette to the ground and grabbed my phone from my bag. I stood outside the car while, Maddie had rushed inside a shop to grab a few things. I dialed Stephen's  number and thought twice before i actually called him.

It rang twice before he picked up..OMG...he picked up...I couldn't believe it,

"Hello?" he said through my phone. I had no words...

"Hello?? Bliss?! Are you there?! he asked again.

"Yeah! hey, where are you?" I asked softly.

"At the hospital, with my mom! Why?" he replied quietly.

"What?! Why didn't you tell me? Is she ok?!" I asked worriedly.

"I didn't want to worry you, yes! she's fine...nothing to worry about." he said.

"If you need anything, just let me know!" i answered.

"I could use some company, would you come over?" he asked sweetly.

"I'm gonna take a quick shower and be there as soon as I can' I replied.

'Thanks! See you soon.' He answered and hung up.
Maddie came out the shop soon after and we headed back to the house. I rushed and showered, I got dress in a hurry..I wore a mini flower printed dress, flirty!? I know! My hair was in curls, so I kept it that way, grab my purse, phone, car keys and drove as fast as I could to the hospital.
I wasn't even thinking of my previous accident, I was only thinking about him...he needed me! And I was going to be there for him, no matter what!
After I found a parking spot, I rushed into the hospital doors, as if my brain had not yet acknowledged my surroundings, it only did when the 'hospital' smell hit me...you know; the whole medicine and dead bodies smell.
I felt my heart racing, as if it was to jump out of my chest, my palms grew sweaty, I could feel my lungs closing in and I could feel the floor spinning.
Suddenly, I saw his face! Walking straight towards me. I really wasn't myself, but I ran into his arms and hugged him tightly, afraid to let him go.
'I came as fast as I could!' I said with a huge relief.
He hugged me back, pulls me away from him, so he can see my face, and kisses me. Hard and long, he leaves me breathless when he finally pulls away.
'Are you ok?!' He asked scanning my face.
'Yes! Let's go see your mom.' I answered.
'No! You can't go up there. Remember?!' He replied with a worried expression on his face.
'I'll be fine!' I said as we entered the elevator.
'As long as your here, I'll be perfectly fine.' I added then pulled his face towards mine so that I could taste his lips a while longer, and the elevator door slowly shuts! We made out in the elevator, all the way up to where Joanne's room was.
'That was productive!' I exclaimed when we walked down the corridor.
'Yeah! It was...I don't regret it for one bit.'
Joanne sat in her bed, she had her reading glasses on, and her favorite book in her hands.
'Bliss! What a wonderful surprise..' She said when I walked in.
'Hey! How are you feeling?!' I asked while I walked towards her.
'I'm fine! You know me, rock solid!' She replied.
'I know you better than that Joe..' I answered n reached for her hand.
'Stephen, go get her a coffee please!' She said as she tried to sit up in bed.
'No, its ok...I'm good' I replied quickly.
'Go! Now...'she ordered and he walked out of the room.
'I wanted him gone..I need you to lisent. I seemingly have less than a month to live. I refused medical support because it would be a waste of money. I wanted you to know first because, its like a bomb, it can blow at any minute. The cancer is not responding to the cemo thearpy., it only spreads more if we attempt to remove it. I want you to protect n care for my boys always Bliss. I need you to hold them together when I'm gone. Your my last hope!' She said acting strong as possible.

'I promise I will Joe, but don't you think its best if you tell them?!' I asked feeling sad.

'This is best, I'm sure they will understand.' She replied, I smiled at her weakly n held her hand tightly as we sat there in silence for a few minutes. Suddenly Stephen burst through the door with my mom.
'Bliss! Sweetheart..' She said as she ran to hug me. I hugged her tightly, forcing my tears back where they came.
'Can Joanne and I have a minute?! I'll call you guys when we're done.' She said
'Of course!' I replied and took Stephen by his arm and dragged him outside.
'What did she tell you?!' He asked as we walked to the car.
'Nothing much, we just did some girl talk!' I said trying hard to sound convincing.
'Ok! If you say so. Do you have cigarettes with you?! He answered
'Yeah, in the car!' I said as I reached for the unlock button on the key.
We sat in the car, each of us lighting our cigarettes, when my father appeared out of no where.
'Excuse me!' He said staring at me with a stern face.
'Daddy!' I exclaimed n jumped out the car to hug him.
'How's my princess?! Sorry I wasn't here when u were admitted.' He answered.
'Your here now, that's all that matters!' I said
'Not for long though...I have to go back tomorrow, duty calls!' He answered looking disappointed.
'Its ok! We'll be fine.' I answered
'Stephen, I see your taking good care of my daughter! Where's your brother?! Haven't seen him since last year.' He exclaimed as he peered through the window.
'She deserves to be taken care of Sir, and Nathan is around somewhere! He replied then stated at me.
'Well I'll go check in with the ladies...I'll see you guys in a few.' He said, kissed my cheek n walked away.
'He knows?!' Stephen asked after my dad was far enough not to hear us.
'Definitely, his my dad..only cigarettes though.' I said and chuckled as I struggled again to light my cigarette.
'Here!' He said offering to light it for me.
Silence grew over our heads and we sat in silence while the music in the car played softly.
We drove back to the house separately, I was in his car in the front, while he rode behind me in his mom's car.
When we arrived the parking was full of cars. Nathan n Brian stood at the entrance as people lined up to enter the house. Music was bursting through the ceiling n more people kept showing up.
'Dude, why didn't I get an invite?' I asked as we pushed our way to the front.
'I called you, you didn't answer. Both of you! Figured you guys were busy.' Brian replied and winked at me.
'Well better move this party, mom and dad are on their way!' I said.
'Nah! They're crashing next door, so we can party!' Nathan said then disappeared in the crowd inside.
We managed to get a drink, find the crew and a place to sit, Nathan and Lexie where dancing, Brian was at the door playing usher with Jayde, Wren had disappeared with Siena, Maddie and Derek where all couple on the next table. Stephen stood by a wall and watched the party guest dance. And I was seated next to Danny, he and I were not on talking terms...but he still sat there. I was still furious at him, I don't know why though.
I walked to the bar to get another drink, and this girl with jet black hair handed me a glass,
'Its called killer! Think you can handle it.' She screamed in my ear over loud music.
I smiled n took the glass, I immediately started sipping, by the time I got to the guys my glass was already empty, shit tasted good.
I sat next to Danny for a few more minutes, before I my head started to spin.
I went to the bathroom to wash my face, as I was walking down the stairs, something hard hit me on my head and everything went pitch black!
