4. Lost

They had been gone for 20 minutes now. The store isn't that far away from out house. What are they doing?
I started to colour the book Tae gave me. The butterflies drawings were amazing, they were almost real. But I missed Tae.
I sighed for myself. The weather looked nice. Maybe I should go out for walk?

"Hello! I'm home." It was dad.

Maybe I should explore nature myself? Why should I be limited?

"Are you colouring?" Dad was behind me.

"I'm sorry. I should've-" I closed the book as quick as I could.

"Seems like you've already studied." He looked at my homework

"You're not angry at me?"

"Why? If you like to colour books, if you found it fun. I let you have it."

I was shocked. He was not mad? I need to thank him in some way.

"Do you need any help dad?" I asked him before he leaved the room.

"No. But thank you."

I looked out the window. Sun was even shining. I'm not going to miss this beautiful weather.

A walk for 10 min can't hurt, right? They will not even notice. I took my cap and put on my shoes. Slowly and quietly opening the door. Dad notices nothing. Closing the door same way as I opened it.

I turned around and saw the the forest which was glowing, it was calling to me. It looked mysterious, what could be in there? Well... On the other side there's a grass field where Tae and I spend the most free time. Where the butterflies are.

I had no clue how I was supposed to walk alone to the field. Tae knew the way.

Suddenly I saw a butterfly flying. A white one, just like the ones I see on the field.

Without knowing what I was doing, I followed the butterfly. I just couldn't let it fly, it was so beautiful. As I chased it I just ran deeper into the woods. No idea where I was going but I just kept on running.

Suddenly I saw a light. I slowed down. Did I just ran across the woods? I looked around, just a field of high grass and woods behind me.
The field where Tae and I always played around had flowers and lower grass. So this was not the same field. It was beautiful though.

I sat down. The butterfly landed on a leaf. Too bad I don't have a camera. Wish I could capture this moment. I laid back, just feeling the sun shining on me. It felt like time stopped, all the worries just flew away with the wind.

Eyes closed, birds singing, what a dream. I was somewhere between sleeping and awake. I was conscious but I couldn't move.

The light started to fade into darkness. Sun was going down. But I couldn't move. I just laid there. Half asleep, half awake.

But I should get going. It's getting late. I walked into the woods again. The woods actually looked scary and haunting. It was gonna keep me here forever. No scary thoughts! Then it will happen...

It felt hopeless, I was just walking deeper and deeper into the woods without getting anywhere. Like the woods didn't have an end.

I looked up, the sky wasn't blue anymore. It was dark purple. Like it was going to rain. Please no thunder...

"Hwan!" A voice called me.

"Hwan! Where are you!?" Is Tae calling me?

"Come out! Wherever you are!"

I ran to the direction I heard his voice. But I wasn't sure where it was, I just ran.

Is that...? A street lamp? Yes, I made it out of the woods. But now I can't even recognise the street. There were houses, but none of the were my house.

Where am I? In a new world?

"Hwan! Come back here!"

I just kept hearing the voice. Repeating my name. Was the voice even real? It sounded like Tae's.

The voice, were probably imaginary. Only in my head.
It sounded so real.
