Narrator's P.O.V
Alya rushed into the classroom and forcefully opened the door. The whole classroom looked at her, whispering to one another about what could be happening.
"Nino and Adrien, come! Now." Alya says threateningly. Truth be told, she needed the two boys to tell them horrific news.
The three teenagers stood outside the classroom, two of which being extremely confused.
"So, what's going on?" Adrien asks, "Is it about Marinette?!" He sped up his voice, needing answers to his question.
It has been 3 days since anyone last saw Marinette, and in those 3 days nobody has been in contact with her - she ignores her phone.
"Sabine - Marinette's mum - came in to talk to me. It's bad news." Alya explained to the boys about Marinette's father, which she only just got informed about. Sabine thought that Marinette needed some friends to help her.
The 3 decided after school they would visit Marinette. It was a long day, the teenagers thinking non-stop about it. As soon as the bell rung, they all met outside.
"Where does she live?" Nino asks, never being to her house so he has no idea of her whereabouts.
"Oh, her and..well, now just her Mother owns the bakery." Alya answers, walking to the building with Nino and Adrien following closely.
Three knocks was all it took to get Marinette to open the door. Although, she looked like a mess.
Her hair was down and knotty, possibly since she hasn't cared for her hair in 3 days. She had black bags under her eyes and tear stains on her cheeks.
Her eyes widened once she saw who was at the door, and quickly closed it. "Give me a minute!" She yelled through the door, hearing a few laughs from the other side.
"Alright, Marinette! Take your time." Alya smiled, which Marinette felt through the door. She rushed upstairs and brushed her hair and cleaned her face. She didn't have enough time to put her hair into her usual pig tails, since it takes her like 20 minutes in the morning to make them even.
She ran down the stairs and opened the door, smiling falsely. She thought she was tricking the three, but not Adrien. He knew how she felt, losing a parent. The same has happened to him...
"Please, come in!" She realized Adrien was there. Oh god! Adrien saw how I looked after crying? shit.
"Oh! Alya, you invited more friends! How lovely!" Sabine smiled beautifully as the teenagers sat down on the sofa. Well, except Marinette who sat on the floor. Sabine lost her husband and the love of her life, yes. But, she had to stay strong - for her daughter.
"Please, eat as much cookies as you'd like!" Sabine puts a big plate of cookies on the coffee table, earning a lot of drawling from a certain blondie.
"Adrien, you're drawling." Nino whispered to his bud's ear. Adrien quickly wiped it away and pretended as if nothing happened.
"I..uh..need to go to the bathroom a second. I'll be right back!" Marinette stood up and ran into her bathroom. Although, she wasn't actually using the bathroom for it's actual use- she was crying instead.
"Alright, children. I need to tell you something important whilst Marinette is gone for a minute or so." Sabine got the teenagers to huddle round her, "Tom's funeral is going to be on Saturday. I need you 3 to be there for her, invite as many classmates as you'd like but since you 3 seem to be close to her, I want you to make sure you take care of my daughter." Sabine looks up from the floor and smiles.
Alya, Nino and Adrien frowned at the start, but soon smiled. "You've got it, Mrs Dupain-Cheng!" Adrien puts his thumb out, giving her a grin.
"Oh, please! Call me Sabine!" Sabine chuckles and pleads. Adrien nods his head.
5 minutes have passed, and the 3 teenagers are still watching TV. "I'm gonna check on Marinette." Adrien stands up from his seat.
And of course, Alya thought this would be the perfect moment.
"Well, look after her!" She winked at the green eyed beaut. He was confused at first, but went along with it.
He walked the corridors to find the bathroom, but he didn't know his way. Until he heard a faint crying sound. He followed it, not knowing who it was. He was face to face with a door hearing weeping from no other than Marinette.
"Marinette? are you okay?" He knocked on the door. Marinette's eyes widened, she wiped the tears away and made sure she didn't look like she was crying. She opened the door with a wide smile, a fake one.
"O-Oh! H-Hey Adrien! fine I'm! I mean- fine fine! No- wait! I-I'm f-fine!" She stuttered, and raged at herself for doing so.
He said no words.
He didn't need to her tell her the truth about how she felt, with her dad and everything.
He knew.
He pulled Marinette into a hug. "Shh...It's okay. Let it all out. I know how it feels to lose a parent. I've lost mine before...But, let's talk about that later. When you don't have special guests."
