Chapter Thirteen
Fred and Lucy just laid in bed for a while, not talking at all. The silence was a great change from the usual noises. The bed was warm and comfy. There wasn't a reason to leave — until they heard the banging of footsteps and people's voices.
"Well," Fred said, getting up from the bed, "I think its time for you to head back. I'll Apparate us there."
He held out his arm, and she took it without a single word. She never side-Apparated before. But when she felt the claustrophobic feeling in her gut, she decided that maybe she didn't like Apparating as much as she thought. Lucy was in her bedroom in seconds, her head dizzy. Fred had to hold onto her arms for her to finally regain her balance.
"Whoa, easy there!"
She finally was able to stand up right. Lucy stared into Fred's wild eyes. He walked towards her. Lucy stepped backwards as many times he did forwards. It wasn't until her back touched a wall before she knew that she was trapped. Fred didn't stop until they were nose to nose.
"F-Fred, w-what are you doing?" Lucy stuttered as she felt his breath on her lips.
He gazed at her with such intensity. His arms were on both sides of her head. He didn't say anything, just pushing his face towards hers, their breaths mingling. He positioned a hand softly on the side of her cheek. Fred brushed his lips on hers, and she couldn't help the shiver that ran down her spine. He kissed her jaw, trailing up to both cheeks, and placing the last one on her forehead before leaning down to her lips.
Then they heard the three loud knocks on her door and jumped away. Lucy was suddenly disappointed. She reached her hand out to Fred, but he was already gone, the gun-like sound of his Disapparating the only thing in his wake. Hermione and Ginny entered the room with a huge smile on their faces.
"So . . . who was in here, huh?" Ginny teased. "I mean . . . if there was someone, right Hermione?"
"Yeah." Hermione smirked.
Lucy glared at the two giggling girls to change into her day clothes. She didn't miss Ginny's words as she left.
"I'm glad Fred has finally found a girl. I know she'll treat him right."
"I think I'm more worried about Fred," Hermione said.
"Oh, yeah, I'll make sure he treats her right. If he doesn't, I'll hex him good."
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The lot were all sitting in Bill's packed car. Bill was a nice lad. She had met him when she came down to breakfast. He looked a lot like the rest of his family with his flaming-red hair, though his was long. Mrs. Weasley had pestered him about cutting it, him arguing that it made all the ladies love him. She heard that he was dating a girl named Fleur Delacour.
Fred was sitting in the passenger seat besides Bill. Lucy was forced to sit behind him, Ginny and Hermione pushing her there. Whenever she looked in the side mirror, she'd notice Fred staring at her and then turn away.
Mrs. Weasley had taken them all out to Diagon Alley as a treat. Lucy was glad about that because she wanted an owl, having forgot to buy one before. Once Bill parked the car in a parking lot, they all walked to the entrance of the Leaky Cauldron.
Doing the usual routine, they found the many shops that were stored in Diagon Alley. Fred and George headed to Zonko's Joke Shop; Harry, Ron, and Ginny to Quality Quiddich Supplies; leaving only Hermione and Lucy to go to Magical Menagerie. Hermione was looking for an owl also, so it was very convenient for the two.
