12 minutes until fourth period ends..
God, This day couldn't be any slower.
Every single kid in my fourth block anxiously stared at the clock, counting down every minute and every second until we could get the hell out of this place.
I'm sure everyone would rather be anywhere except here, in Mr. Carenza's Spanish class, on a hot friday afternoon.
This class doesn't have air conditioning, there's close to 30 kids in here and we're not allowed to talk or get on our phones. This is literal hell.
"Kaireya, uh, they're asking for you in the office," Mr. Carenza said, with his heavy Spanish accent.
"Kaireya!" he shouted, breaking me of my thoughts.
I shook my head and gave him him my full attention..
"Mrs. Sinsceno wants to see you in the office."
The class began gasping and 'oooo'ing in sync.
Mrs. Sinsceno is known for suspending and expelling people quicker than you can ask why.
Why am I being sent there?
I hopped out of my seat, cautious not to bump into some big, angry, sweaty senior and ran out the class room.
Ahhhhh, I sighed as I stepped into the cold hallway.
I could stay here forever on these hot summer days.
I quietly walked down the hall to Mrs. Sinsceno's office, peeping into every class I passed by.
I passed a specific one, Physics with Dr. Ismad, Cody Dallas is in that class. Cody is this nerdy, quiet, mysterious but incredibly handsome junior, that I have the hugest crush on.
We don't have any classes together because I'm sophomore but besides that, we ride the same bus.
I would kill to hang out with him.
When I approached Mrs.Sinsceno's door, I knocked softly three times and walked inside.
"Ah, Hello, Ka--uh,"
"You can just call me Kai." I said, taking a seat.
"Hey, Kai, how are you?" she calmly asked.
I'm not as intimated by Mrs. Sinsceno as the other kids are. She does favor a witch but she still doesn't scare me.
"Good." I murmured
"Good-- great! Uh, I got you here today cause you have 2 days of detention. Simple as that." She said, scribbling her pen across my referral.
"What, why?!"
"You wrote on your test in very small font for Mr.Hendrick, saying, 'Running through the six with my woe, getting money, effing h-o's'."she explained
What! No I--
Oh, wait! I did..
I have a tendency to write down what I'm thinking and that song was just stuck in my head that day.
I nodded and sighed as she tore the sheet and handed it to me.
"Be there this afternoon." she demanded.
I rolled my eyes and walked out her office. Great..
My day is going just great!
____________________________________I stared at my referral sheet and then back at the door and yup, This is where detention is.
Room 39.
I opened the door and casually walked over to the teacher on duty today, handing him my sheet.
"Take a seat anywhere, no electronics, talking or sleeping." he said, in the flattest, boringest tone ever.
I turned and looked around the class, all the unfamiliar faces---
Wait, Cody Dallas has detention? What, no way!. He's a good kid.
I shook my head and brushed down the aisle of desks, sitting 2 seats away from Cody.
He held his head in a book, his long blond hair covering his glasses and most his face.
In his stillest moments, Cody Dallas is still such a babe. But, why does he have detention?
...............This is a new story I'm starting, what do you think?
