Reminiscing the Past

Chapter 10

Adeline's POV

"Simmons, who's this?" The girl next to Coulson asked.

In a rage of anger I ripped off the identity mask I was wearing and they all gasped. The girl pulled out her gun pointing it at me but Coulson put his hand on her arm while still staring at me.

"It's alright she's with Shield," he said, "Agent Taylor, why don't you follow me?"

We left everyone behind and he led me to an office.

"What the hell, Phil? I thought you were dead!" I yelled sitting down in a chair putting my head in my hands, "What is going on?!"

"Adeline, I can explain," he said sitting at the edge of his desk.

"No! Do you know what the team went through after you died? I nearly took down the hellicarrier with grief!" I shouted looking up at him.

"I know you're upset but you have to let me explain," he said coming over and sitting in front of me. I was silent and he continued, "Yes, clinically I was dead for about forty seconds or so I thought Fury had me think I was sent to this recovery place in Tahiti but that wasn't the case. I was actually dead for several days and was given a drug called GH.325 that I've found out is an alien drug." He finally finished and I just stared at him, "I know this is a lot to take in."

"Why didn't you come back?" I asked.

"Because Fury told me not to besides I have a new team now to take care of," he answered folding his hands together.

"But we needed you. I need you. I have no idea what I'm doing with this flash drive or where I'm going," I said as my eyes started to tear up, "Why did you guys lie to me for so long?"

"We were afraid of how you would have reacted..."

"Because yet again I'm a danger," I sighed.

"No, Adeline. You are so much more than that now that you know everything you can use it to your advantage," Phil said putting a hand on my knee, "Besides you were starting to remember your past life. The dream you had in the infirmary that had actually happened."

"This is all so confusing and I don't know what to do anymore," I cried.

"Well what have you found out?" He asked.

"Only background information about the two scientists and an address in New Jersey," I said.

"Maybe the answers are in New Jersey," he suggested.

"Maybe," I agreed before leaning forward and hugging Phil, "I've missed you so much, AC."

"I miss you too, Adeline," he said hugging me back as we sat in silence, "Do you want some of us to come with you to New Jersey?"

"No, I think I have to do this on my own," I nodded.

"Well come on you can come meet the team," Phil suggested and he led me out where a bunch of people stood around a table and Phil introduced me, "Team, this is Agent Adeline Taylor also known as Reminiscent." Then he introduced the entire team and soon they all broke off.

"Well it's nice to meet you for who you really are," Jemma hugged me, "Thank you for everything."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you who I really was," I apologized.

"You had your reasons I'm sure," she nodded.

"Hi I'm Skye," a girl with long brown hair come up to me.

"Adeline," I shook her hand.

"If you want you can stay in our bunks. Coulson says you have to leave soon but I thought you could sleep a bit before you go," she offered.
