Give Him Time Dear

I decide it's best if I just go to bed and head to work in the morning, the next morning I turn off my alarm when all of a sudden I feel like I'm gonna barf everywhere, I run to the bathroom and make it just in time I probably spend ten minutes with the toilet before I get up and get dressed, brushing my teeth grabbing a piece of plain toast with butter and heading to the car and head to work. As I pull up outside at the back door of the hardware store I pull out my phone and there is no messages or calls from Michael, I sigh and pocket my phone and head into the store my first reaction is I walk up to Lilian hugging her as tight as I can and begin to cry.

Lilian-"Oh hunny what's wrong? Here let's go to the back and we can talk about it."

We head back into the breakroom as I continue to sob like the pregnant mess that I am when I just decide to blurt it out to Lilian, "Mom I'm pregnant" she stands there for a moment before a big smile crosses her face, "I get to be a grandma?" she says in a soft sweet voice. I give her a soft smile with tears still in my eyes, " Yes, you and Mark will be grandparents but mom there is one problem.. Toby won't talk to me,since he found out yesterday at the hospital he hasn't called or texted, I'm very worried that he doesn't want this baby with me."

Lilian-"Oh honey don't cry, this baby could be the best thing that has ever happened to you, and just give him sometime dear I promise he will come around, it's a man thing they always need time to think, just give him his space."

I give Lilian one last hug before putting on my apron and getting through the work day. Near the end of the work day I get a text from Michael.

Michael- "I needed  the night to think, i'll meet you at your house tonight when your done work and we can talk about everything."

I finish up the work day and close up the store and head home, I head upstairs and get changed into a baggy iron maiden t-shirt and some comfy shorts as I head down to the kitchen I see Michael sitting at the table, "HOLY FUCK! Michael you scared the shit out of me!" As he continues to sit there looking blank I finally snap. "I get it your scared I am too but fuck sakes Michael you left me last night,when they found out that the baby was okay you didn't say a fucking thing you just froze, I need you to either be in this with me or get the fuck out." Michael just sits there for a moment before finally speaking.

Michael- " I'm in this with you, we don't know how it will effect you or what will happen but we are in this together. Can I touch it?"

I nod as he walks over to me and puts his large hand  on my tummy as there is no bump there yet but inside my stomach is going to be a little human made by Michael and I, Michael begins smiling and kisses me on the lips.
