We pull up to the fairground past the main entrance to a secondary gate. We get out of the car and I'm immediately floored by the grandeur of the festival, there are several stages and tents that house anything from food to band merchandise to souvenirs as well as smaller stages. As you look through the grounds there's people as far as the eye can see. As we walk through the festival I can't help feeling giddy, when the ferris wheel comes into view I giggle with excitement. Jared looks at me bemused and tugs at my hand as I've stopped for a few seconds to take it all in "Later love...I promise" I nod in approval as we continue our walk. We make our way to the art exhibits, Jared pulls out his phone to ready himself for picture taking "Always have your phone on the ready just in.... Hmm Shannon called, he must be getting ready for Santorini" he puts the phone to his ear and listens to the message, a mischievous smirk appears on his face and I can't help but wonder what brought it on "So what Shannon say?" He puts his arm around me and we continue walking "Santorini is confirmed for 1:00 o'clock" AND "so what was the smirk for?" I look up to see his reaction and there it is again "I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about" nice try but I'm not buying it pretty boy "Uh huh.... Yeah sure you don't" he just grins and walks on "Curiosity kitten, curiosity" ok two can play at that "Then I guess I should change my name to George" he pulls me into his embrace and takes my lips "Not a chance missy, Nina suits you just fine"
The art exhibits are incredible, there's oversized pieces scattered around the fair grounds and smaller exhibits housed in a large tent. There's everything from paintings to sculptures made up of all sorts of materials, some have actual working parts. Every now and again Jared stops to admire a piece here and there, he's incredible to watch. The animated pieces capture his attention the most, you can actually see the wheels in his head turning trying to figure out how everything works. For me it's the paintings and smaller pieces that capture my attention one more so than the others, it's hauntingly familiar. I leave Jared for a brief second and ask the girl who's carrying it where she found it "Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you but I was wondering where you got that painting, it's incredible" she smiles sweetly "It is, isn't it? As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it" Me:"It's hauntingly familiar, I feel like I've seen the work before but can't quite place where" she looks at me bemused "He's a local artist he's based just south of Malibu, matter of fact why don't you walk around the corner and satisfy your curiosity" I giggle at the word curiosity and she looks at me funny "I'm sorry my boyfriend's been kidding me about curiosity all morning" her:"It's ok so does mine sometimes" speaking of which it doesn't take him long to notice I left his side, I feel his arms wrap around me and in that sweet sexy voice that could melt butter in the middle of a snow storm "I take my eyes off of you for one second and you're already making a run for it" I place my hand around his neck and pull him close "Never, you're stuck with me Monseiur Leto" he takes my lips making me go weak at the knees Her:"Oh my God ..... You're .... Jared Leto" he looks up at her and smiles sweetly "Yes and you are?" Her:"I'm Lily, I'm a big fan your work. Your use of shadow and light is phenomenal and that piece you featured at the Stay Gallery in your abstract Retro Americana collection was stunning" I could swear I see his cheeks flush J:"Why thank you that's sweet of you to say, that means a lot" L:"You're quite welcome" Jared eyes the painting in her hand "So what do you have there?" L:"Oh... Umm it's an original piece by a local artist he's set up around the corner if you'd like to check him out, his work is incredible. Not as good as yours of course" he flushes again "Remind me to invite you to my next exhibition" L:"Are you serious I'd love that" I take down her number and promise to call her soon.
After a few more minutes of conversation we say our good byes and make our way to the exhibition. At first I don't notice the Artist only his paintings, his work is incredible and strangely familiar .... Like I know it but it's different some how. Then I hear his voice "You know if you take a picture it will last longer" smartass! "If they were worth the picture I'd take one!" Jared just looks at us bemused Him"So what? Now that you're dating pretty boy over here, I'm not good enough for you anymore?" Me:"ADAM!!!!" I look at him in shock and he starts laughing at that "I'm sorry doll I couldn't resist" I smack his arm playfully and pull him into a hug "What are you doing here!" A:"The Stay Gallery was raffling a couple spots here at Coachella. The trick was to submit a piece of my work, out of all the entries a handful of artist would be selected. Turns out the day I submitted my entry Jared was meeting with Michelle and he hooked me up" Jared colors slightly as I turn to face him "Guilty as charged" Me:"Why didn't you say anything" he smiles sweetly "I know how much Adam and his art mean to you, what better way to help him out. Besides if I'd have said something it wouldn't have been a surprise" I pull him close and take his lips "Mmmm....... You're just full of surprises aren't Mr. J" he gives me a wicked little grin and in a sexy voice "Oh you ain't seen nothing yet" he pulls me close and takes my lips A:"Get a tent!!!" We both giggle at that Me:"Technically, this is a tent"
We hang out with Adam a little longer then go off to enjoy the other exhibits and the festival itself. We are walking around enjoying the sights when Jared's phone goes off "It's Shannon, sorry love I have to take this" I kiss his lips and sigh deeply "I know love, Duty calls" one last kiss and he answers the phone "Hey Shan how was the meeting? Did Santorini like the proposal?" S:"Liked it, he loved It! He wanted to go over some details but I told him you and Nina were at Coachella so he asked to meet with you next week" J:"Thanks Shan I owe you one" S:"No problem Jay you know I always have your back. Andy did good, he surprised me actually. Didn't even flinch when I told Santorini about you being at Coachella, the furniture on the other hand, we might have to replace eventually ......." There goes that smirk again, I wonder what Shannon is up to. From the look on Jared's face he was up to no good and he was enjoying every second of it. I wonder if they've always been this way, I can almost imagine them as little boys always getting in trouble and covering up for each other, those mischievous little grins on their face and a scheming gleam in there eyes...."Penny for your thoughts love" I snap out of my contemplation only to notice he's now off the phone "A dollar for yours" he raises an eyebrow incredulously "Is that all I'm worth?" Me:"You're worth your weight in gold my love but right now you look like the cat that swallowed the canary" he smiles mischievously "It was pretty tasty too" I look at him in shock "JARED!!!" He chuckles as he pulls me close "Curiosity Kitten, curiosity. Maybe you should change your name to George" I smack him playfully "Not a chance, Nina suits me just fine!
