How do you pack for a camping trip when you're spending 72 hours in a campsite but not exactly ...... camping. Normally I work on my planner and pack in advance but I've spent extra hours in the office with Abri making sure the skeletal crew we're leaving behind can hold down the fort while we're gone. So between the office and Jared keeping me "Busy" my packing time has been cut in half. To make things more complicated I'm now living out of two houses that is to stay I'm not fully moved in with him but I'm not entirely moved out of my apartment. I spent most of my days and nights with Jared but come home a few days a week to check my mail, water my plants and an occasional movie night with Adam. Even though we both have busy schedules we still try to find time for each other. He is after all my best friend and confidant as I am to him.
Although I have plenty of clothes to pack at Jared's there are still some things at home that I want to take with me to camp, besides it's movie night tonight and I have a surprise for Adam.

An hour later I have a suitcase and an overnight bag on my bed along with a spread of clothes, bathing suits, a coverlet, my camera, a small make up bag, sunscreen, sun glasses, a charging case, my favorite sandals and a pretty floppy summer hat. I try to make a mental note of what I have at Jared's so I'm careful not to over pack. I check my overnight bag and add the smaller items into it and put the rest into the suit case. I look into my closet then my bathroom and wonder if I'm missing anything. I'm lost in thought when my phone rings making me jump "Hey Love miss me already" in my haste to answer I neglect to check my caller I.D. "Oh terribly sweet cakes" oh God "Sorry Adam I thought you were Jared" I've missed his laugh "Yeah apparently, speaking of which how is lover boy?" Same old Adam "He's good, he's .... really good" I can hear him gagging on the other end of the line "Eeeew you're like my little sister spare me the pillow talk will you" I couldn't help but laugh "Get your head out of the gutter you perv" he tries to stifle a laugh "Hey you started it! So you gonna let me in or what?" Oh shit "You're here?" Wait what time ..... "you said be here by  7:00 right?" oh crap! "Uh yeah ... I must've lost track of time, I'll be right there" I open up the front door only to find him standing there with a hand full of our favorite take out. "OMG you're a life saver" I give him a tight hug and let him in.

We set up our food in the living room on the coffee table so we can enjoy our movie while we eat. I bring over two glasses of wine and hand him the movie to put into the DVD player. He opens the case only to find something extra inside "What's this?" He looks at me perplexed "It's two tickets to Pepperdine University's Art Fair in Malibu this weekend" a sweet look of surprise adorns his face as he takes them out of the case "Are you kidding me Neen, this is awesome but how?" I can't help but giggle "Jared was invited to the event, He and I thought you might enjoy it so we scored you some tickets" the look of awe and wonder in his face as he reads the tickets is priceless "I don't know what to say ..... wait it's a whole weekend event" God I love him he may be the older one but he can still be a kid at heart "Yes you'll have access to both days" his eyes open wider and his cheeks look like they hurt, he's smiling so big "Holy Shit! This is awesome thank you so much doll. Oh and you can tell my new brother he has my permission to marry you now" I look at him in faux shock "Ugh..... Sellout" he stifles a laugh "What ..... like you wouldn't be happy if I got you a freebie from Trist" Oh my God this is too easy "From where Mc Donald's???" He looks at me as if to say really "Oh you're Dirty...." I shake my head and laugh. Truth be told she's not Mickey D's employee of the Month, she actually landed a job with a small publication company not far from the Gallery. Hey she was once vying for my job, I think I'm entitled to a little fun am I not?

We spent the rest of the evening watching movies and talking about our relationships and camp. They're not as serious as Jared and I are but they are happy and that's all that matters. Per our usual we laugh, joke, and occasionally yell at the TV screen when the character in the movie is headed straight to their death instead of running for the hills.  Movies can be so predictable sometimes but they're also fun to watch. We're super excited about camp too, we can't wait to take in all the art pieces and exhibitions "How'd you find out about the camp anyway? You said Jared was invited right?" He asks as he refills his wine glass "Yes he was. We met up with the art director at the camp grounds for a tour. Half of the proceeds get donated to the campsite for their youth program the rest goes to the Art Department at Pepperdine. Wait till you see it Adam it's so peaceful and serene" the enthusiasm must be written all over my face "I love it all ready and I love that part of the proceeds benefits the campsite too" his enthusiasm warms my heart "That's why Jared accepted the invitation, Shannon's even hosting a Pop up bar at camp" and I just said the magic word coffee "Seriously....." I nod " ...... sweet!!! I love his coffee, it's the best shit in town!" I can't help but smile at that..... and he's absolutely right about that, it is the best coffee in or out of town.
