"I need to leave for work, I won't be home until twelve," Jasper began, Chloe watching as he prepared to leave "I left money on the counter if you wanted to order a pizza, you know just in case you get lonely without Charlotte and I.""Calm down, Jas," Chloe playfully scoffed "i'll be needing to go to work tomorrow, let's see who the lonely one will be tomorrow."
"A simple thank you would be nice, for the money." Jasper chuckled.
"Cheers," Chloe lazily responded, waving Jasper off to prevent him from not being late "now hurry your ass, it's already eight."
"Bye Chloe." Jasper murmured as he left their apartment with his footsteps left loud.
She sighed before roaming the apartment, examining the stack of money that could probably afford a car on the spot. What a ridiculous amount of money to be left on the counter for just pizza, but Chloe only thought to herself that she could by herself even more pizza.
Chloe rushed to her phone to quickly order pizza, not willing to wait anymore longer. As Chloe ignored all the notifications she had gotten during her trip to the snow, she stumbled across the memorised number from the nearest Pizza Hut, leaving it to a few rings before someone had answered.
"Hello this is Pizza Hut." A woman with quite a sweet tone to her voice spoke.
"Good morning, I wanted to place an order for two whole pepperoni pizza's and one whole Hawaiian pizza."
"Could you please give me your address and postcode." As Chloe did, she calculated how much it would cost her, knowing she would most likely have to pay Jasper back for the amount of pizza she were to consume.
"Thanks." Chloe said after she gave her details to the woman.
"We will arrive with your order within fifteen to thirty minutes, thanks." Those being her last words before Chloe hang up.
Should I work at a pizzeria? Maybe I could get a discount on pizza's, or better yet, free freaking pizza. Chloe had slowly slipped into a thoughtful trance, trying to make certain scenarios as real as possible. She could quit her current job and hand in a resume to the most nearest pizzeria near the apartment.
Chloe then hadn't noticed for twenty-four hours that she had not checked on any emails, text messages, missed calls and many more that she had been notified on. She sighed as she scrolled through her emails, deleting a few that weren't relevant. But as Chloe entered the app to access her text messages, she instantly dropped her phone. Whimpering.
She felt her legs give way, Chloe feeling the need to puke the remaining food in her stomach. She sobbed loudly, but no tears were felt on the surface. Chloe blinked uncontrollably, now clutching her phone in an uncomfortable state and continued to look over the two messages she received from a specific person.
Michael:
Hey, ChloeMichael:
It's been awhile since we've talked
we need to discuss many things
overChloe sat there stunned, her mouth open ready to scream, but nothing came out but the sound of small whimpers. Her throat dry and burning, Chloe wanting to close her opened mouth but had no energy to move anything more.
Chloe always loved Michael, in a way to show off their friendship. He'd tell her how Luke would feel about what she would do to surprise him, Michael basically helping with anything Luke and Chloe offered. He was a well devoted friend to the both of them, but as Luke made the mistake Michael couldn't help but lash his anger out towards Luke, he never had gotten to properly say bye to Chloe and he regrets never doing so. Michael always seemed to blame himself for Luke's idiotic decisions.
She had her thumbs hovering over the key pad, she knew she had to reply back. Chloe could feel uncomfortable and totally distant between a friendship no one ever knew who broke it, she needed the message to be perfect and professional.
Chloe:
Hey Michael, it's been forever
and I do agree that we have to discuss overChloe believed it was what she needed to send, she had read over the message multiple of times. Not wanting any mistakes to be found, she needed to be strong and willing to face any risks. Chloe was always waiting for a certain text of apology, but never received one for the time she ever expected one. Chloe was now breathing heavily, not wanting to move from her spot, but that failed as the doorbell had loudly gone off. She quickly remembered her ordered pizza, snatching the money off the counter and continued to drag herself towards the door.
"Two pepperoni and one Hawaiian?" A young man asked, his face covered with a cap that contained the sign of the pizzeria imprinted onto it.
"Yes." Chloe muttered, starring at her feet for she attempted to empty her mind.
"That will come up to eighteen ninety-five," the boy had said, Chloe gave an amount of money that was a little over the actual price, she could feel her face turning pale and her hands intensely shake "ma'am are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." Chloe waved him off, snapping back into reality and lightly smiling at the pizza boy. She handed him the money and had said not to bother with giving change, grabbing the pizza before closing the door behind her.
"No I'm most definitely not fine." Chloe spoke aloud, pouring her thoughts out as she dug into her pizza, hoping that whatever Michael wanted to discuss wasn't centred about Luke.
