"Dude, we're in a bar, loosen up." Luke slurred, clumsily slapping Michael on his back."I don't need to loosen up," he spat, still quite angry from their previous argument that included Chloe's name "for a matter of fact, I'm only here to keep an eye on you."
Luke groaned, taking yet another large amount of his glass of alcohol down his throat "You know what Michael, since you're trying to 'protect me' I'm going to be very, very, very rebellious."
"And what is that." Michael most certainly not taking an interest in his words.
"I'm going to hook up with a chick." Luke said through a hiccup, soon giggling as he took many more sips of his strong drink.
"Come on, Luke, Chloe still exists," Michael said through a frown "you can't do that."
"Well she's not here is she," Luke whispered, smirking "I can do whatever I want, I'm a grown man." He then shouted.
"Shut up, you're out of your mind." He scowled, pulling Luke by his elbow.
"Get off of me." Luke giggled, running off to wherever he wished.
Michael groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. He hated when Luke thought of things like he had then, Michael had to clean up Luke's mess afterwards and bring him to his senses. Michael knew from past experience that Chloe was good for Luke, she made him fall in love for the first time, Chloe made Luke love himself whenever he was around her, and Chloe made Luke do good things rather than risky things. Michael sighed as he thought of Chloe, he had lost his most closest friend all for the reason of Luke leaving her. She never deserved the hurt and pain, Michael wanted to be there, Luke needs Chloe, they need each other.
"I am so sorry, mister." A guy with brown hair that matched his eyes had managed to say over the loud music.
He had fallen over Michael's slouched body, shrugging the body off of him. He glared at the man as knew that he were drunk.
"Bonjour, Monsieur." This mystery of a man had said to Michael, clearly ignoring him.
"I don't know you." Michael said through a sharp tone.
"Oh silly me, sorry mister red dude," he laughed "my name is Jasper." His eyebrows wiggling in an impressing way.
"Well I'm Michael." He most certainly did not want to be there talking to a man by the name of Jasper.
"Please, sit." Jasper formally had said, presenting a free booth that Michael lazily sat in. He might as well spend a couple of hours listening to this guy rant with whatever.
"Thanks." He muttered.
"So, Michael," Jasper slurred, his eyes droopy as he gripped his glass tighter "what makes you special?" Jasper had literally went from introduction to asking for quite personal information in just a blink of an eye.
"Pardon?" Michael choked on his breath, taken back from what Jasper had said.
"What makes Michael," Jasper slowly explained "Michael."
"Um, I'm in a band?" Michael not knowing if that was the answer to be given.
"That's hella cool, so you're like one direction?" Jasper asked, his eyes furrowing.
Michael chuckled loudly, his head fell back "They're great lads, but my band is more on the punk rock side."
"So you say, what's your band's name?"
"5 seconds of summer." This had made Jasper gasp.
"I can't be talking to you," He had sounded sober, but Michael knew he still was over the top drunk "you're Michael Clifford, right? Y-you-Chlo-" but as Jasper noticed what he had said, he covered his mouth.
"Did you just say Chloe?" Michael asked through a glare, his hands forming into fists as he was curious about the mention of Chloe's name. Jasper knows something that he wasn't telling Michael.
"Pfft, no." Jasper failed to cover up.
"Explain to me how you know Chloe Williams." Michael growled loudly, leaning quite close to Jasper to somewhat threaten him.
"No, explain to me how you know Chloe."
"You know, don't you?" Jasper laughed as Michael said so, it was true.
"She's my best friend," He smirked through his words, slurring at his sentences "you have no idea."
Jasper brought the glass cup to his mouth, soon gagging as he couldn't consume anymore alcohol. Michael backed away thinking Jasper were about empty his remains inside of his stomach, his facial expression explaining his sudden reaction.
"I have no idea, to what?" Michael then asked.
"I need to go home," Jasper weakly said "now."
"Jasper, tell me what I have no idea to." Michael's voice raised, taking Jasper in surprise that it had made him flinch
"Please take me home, I feel like passing out."
Michael sighed, helping Jasper stand on his two feet. His body heavy against his as Michael attempts to carry his weight, Jasper wasn't over weight, he had quite a lot of muscle that was visible under his tees. Michael rolled his eyes as Jasper accidentally dropped his glass that has shattered into many pieces.
"Far out, Mikey." Michael almost had dropped Jasper on the spot. It had reminded him of Chloe, a little nickname that Chloe would say whenever she was teasing or mad at him.
"Don't say that." Michael almost fell face first as Jasper gave way and passed out, holding him in place as they leaned against a corner of the bar.
Michael groaned as he searched his body for a phone, something to be able to call Chloe's cell. Of course, she wouldn't answer Michael's calls for what had happened in the past. She would most probably answer on Jasper's cell, Michael giving him a some sort of a round of applause as he succeeded in finding Jasper's phone.
He held down the home button to access Siri, asking clearly over the loud music to call Chloe's contact. It had taken multiple of times to get the right contact, giving it a few rings and a couple of uncomfortable shuffles.
"Hola, Jas," Chloe spoke through the phone and for the first time Michael wanted to cry. He had terribly missed her, but never would he miss her more than Luke would, even if Luke didn't show it Michael could see it "how was work?"
There was a long pause.
"Hello, Jasper? Are you okay? I can hear music, oh god Jasper are you at a club?" Chloe questioned.
"Actually, it's Michael."
There was silence, the sound of the music shook the building and that was probably the only thing that could be heard as two lines were kept quiet. He swore he heard Chloe choke on air, also letting out a small whimper.
"How the hell did you get Jasper's phone," Chloe spat "better yet, how do you know Jasper?"
"He kind of just came to me, Jasper was pretty hammered."
"Where is he now?"
"He's currently leaning against me, passed out," Michael paused "could you please come now and pick him up?"
"Sure, is he okay?"
"Yeah he'll be fine."
"What's the bar name," Chloe asked, footsteps and rattling heard behind the phone knowing she had quickly gotten prepared within that time "scratch that, I'm highly positive which bar to go to."
The call duration ended at approximately one minute and forty-nine seconds. But between that time, Michael and Chloe shared their first ever talk since a couple of years. It was new, but it was a great experience.
Although, as Michael thought of Luke and what Luke did. He couldn't forgive himself, Michael needs to distance himself from Chloe, he could never get her to forgive him or his whole band. As much as he could and want to try, nothing could replace the pain.
