I stared at him, jaw wide open, shocked.
"What?!" I screeched. "How could that happen? I mean, I've never done anything bad like smoke or anything that would make m..." I said as he cut me off.
"Don't worry, it's nothing like that." He reassured me. "But, have you ever had a relative have this condition?"
"Not that I know of, no." I replied, hesitating a bit, digging deep into my mind to try and find the answer. "But, what is brain cancer?" I asked. I knew a little bit about it. It was cancer in the brain.
"Brain cancer is a cancerous or noncancerous mass or growth of abnormal cells in the brain. You're brain cancer is cancerous. Basically you have a tumor in your brain making you have headaches, confusion, difficulty speaking and walking, vomiting and fatigue, dizziness, blurred vision, seizures. It's rare for a 16 year old girl to have this disease, not very rare, but rare. There isn't a specific cause but some risk factors are genetics, HIV, and AIDS. You have none of these risk factors so we will have to look further into this case. You will be put through surgery and chemotherapy to fight the cancer and won't return to school till the first surgery which is a week from tomorrow. Any more questions?" He asked after saying his long explanation of the disease making my stomach fill with butterfly's. I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Instead I shook my head.
"Very well. Now will you come with me, we are going to take an X-Ray of your brain to show you the tumor." He said walking over to my bedside. He held out his hands to help me up and grabbed the stand where the wires were connected. It had wheels so I could walk around with it without taking out the needles in my body. I placed my feet on the cold ground noticing I'm not wearing socks. I stand up and feel a sharp pain go through my body. I start to walk, feeling a pain in my head. A headache arrives in my head and I become dizzy. I'm using a walker to help me stand. He leads me to a room where there's a large machine, bigger than me. I se my reflection in the metal, my hair is messed up. I start to brush it with my fingers. I look at the ground, and see blonde hair on the cement, my blonde hair.
