There he was, standing near a cherry tree, making out with Lilian Fronz.
"Emmet?!" I yell. He jumps away from Lilian as I strut over to the cherry tree.
"Look, I can explain!" He says quickly. Lilian starts to run away as Camille comes running up beside me with a stern look on her face.
"Is this for real?" I say, people now starting to stare.
"Look, I'm sorry, I just can't date a girl with, you know, that." He points to my forehead.
"What?!" I scream. "You've got to be kidding!"
"I'm sorry, but I have to go." He says and runs into school. I'm left standing, alone with Camille as the last people start piling into the school.
"I'm so sorry." Camille says in a soft, soothing voice. Tears start to trickle down my cheeks as I wipe them away quickly. I was wrong. This is gonna be a long year.
