Chapter 10.
I had a really hard time getting up so Helen dragged me out of bed and literally pushed me into my washroom. I took a quick shower got ready and grabbed a piece of toast while running out.
If you want to know why I was always late there's your reason; I stay up late doing shit I'm not supposed to be doing.
Except for yesterday of course, yesterday was important and I was glad I did so.
At school nothing eventful happened until third period; I was called to the principal's office.
I was called to the principal's office regularly but in the past week I hadn't been called once (woot woot) so I was surprised when I was called.I liked the principal he was funny and joked regularly with the students but if he was pissed you'd better run.
Confused, I went to the principal's room and in there was the principal himself. I was kind of relieved when I saw I wasn't the only student.
The students that were there were all the people who sat at the "popular table" and the regulars from detention.
Okay never mind, I'm screwed.
At least Kevin, James and Blake were there.
"Late as usual, even to the principal's office." Principal Jones stated and I murmur an apology.
"You all are called here because I revised the entire junior and senior student's record files." We have record files? "And I discovered that all of you have very low grades in volunteerism and many of you didn't even volunteer for anything. You know how seriously we take our volunteerism grading at this school and how it makes 40% of your end result." Well I'm screwed.
"So you all are going to help Mrs. Claudia decorate the hall for the masquerade and I don't want to hear any complaints from her otherwise you all are failing." He said and I groaned inwardly.
I don't want to work with these idiots. Except Kevin, James and Blake of course but the others were potatoes.
~
When I reach home Helen greets me with a worried face.
"What is it now?" I sigh and sit down on the kitchen counter. I really can't take any more bad news.
"Your mom isn't getting here for another month." She says sadly. "She has to go to Tokyo or something for the launch of her new clothing line she said she wanted to take you along but you have school."
Phew thank god judging by the look on her face you'd have thought someone died.
"Oh, okay." I say. "Hey do you have something to eat I'm hungry."I ask and Helen just stares at me.
"What?"
"Scar did you hear what I just said?" She raises her eyebrows.
"Yes but you know her Helen, I'm used to being alone." I say nonchalantly but it comes out really sadly.
"Sorry hun." Helen says sympathetically. "Go up I'll bring you food."
After I'm done eating I decide to clean my room.
I was just done cleaning when I receive a message from Kevin.
Can we meet up at the bridge? And I reply with be there in 10.
I tell Helen where I'm going and drive to the park. As I drive a lot of thoughts come to mind; why did he want to meet? Was he ok? Come to think of it he did look distracted at school maybe something was up, so I sped there.
