Maybe he was drunk or high.

"So did you do your work?" Mr. James continues looking at me.

Damn it and I thought that I could escape.

"I... uhh... yeah... I did it but... umm..." I start trying to think of reasonable excuse.

Everyone was staring at me now, talk about embarrassing. I look around the room as hoping for an excuse to hit me but all I do is catch the new guy chuckling. Rudeass.

Maybe he isn't all sugar and spice and everything nice as I thought,

"Umm there was this-"

"Enough Scarlett. Did we already do this like four times?" he sighs. "Detention for you and since you never do your work" his exasperation turns to anger "it's for three and a half hours."

Three and  a half hours? Was this guy crazy??

"Three and a half hours but I-"

"Four if you keep complaining." he deadpans and that shuts me up. Arrgh.

Soon the bell rings and we have lunch.

I sat on my usual seat beside my two best friends Christine and Stacey. We weren't popular but we weren't the ones shoved around either. I liked our status not too popular but not the weirdos either.

"Oh my god you guys did you see the new guy? I mean I can't study if a guy that cute is going to be right there distracting me." I chuckled. "Oh and I came across this amazing shop can we go this Saturday?" Stacey asked excitedly.

Stacey was like those really girly girls and sometimes it was annoying but she was an awesome friend. She had long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, she was pretty and she knew it.

"Can't." I say taking a bite from my food.

"What? Why?" she practically screamed then she paused for a while and said "Detention?" more like a statement than a question. I nodded.

God when was I going to change?

"Are you ever going to do the homework?" she asked me with a raised eyebrow. "I will." I said unconvincingly. And Christine started tsking me.

Christine was the perfect girl. I mean she was good in almost everything; straight A's, athletic and she was quite popular.

She had beautiful long red hair that curled just the right way and beautiful green eyes, she was pretty too but she was someone who didn't care about such things.

Heck everyone I knew was pretty. What happened to me?

So we were going on about our usual chit chats and in walks Kevin.

Everyone is staring at him. No not stare but gaping and I can't blame them.

He's just walking a table with a tray of food and he looks like he's doing a commercial or something.

Even Christine who couldn't care less about boys is there almost drooling at the sight of that blue eyed beauty.

So like all typical high school my school too had a group of people who are considered popular. No one really liked them because they were kinda cocky and mean but all of them looked like perfectly sculptured so everyone wanted to be them and somehow they became popular.

I bet Kevin would fit in just fine. In fact I swear he's the most attractive person in this school right now. Heck I bet he's the most attractive person in this town.

The "popular" table was calling him to join them and Cassidy the most popular girl was flirtatiously smiling at him and patting the seat next to her.
