The storm outside was Scarry. I hid in my room waiting for my family to get home. The thunder rubbles loudly making me flinch as I looked around.
I was wondering why they were taking so long to get to me when the doorbell rang out threw the house.
I felt myself grow calmer a little. They're here!
I run downstairs to meet them. Perhaps they got locked out or something.
I giggled and opened the door revealing a strange man in a uniform. A cop.
A cop standing in the rain looking at me.
I stand their in terror as I looked up at the tall man. Why was here here? Because I stole a cookie from mom's and dad's room?
I squeak weakly in fright as the man spoke. "Hello Kyle, I need to speak with you. May I come in?"
I say nothing but instead I turn and run back into our home. I run upstairs and into my brother's room quickly hiding in his bed.
I could hear the man yelling my name, his footsteps as he followed me upstairs.
He softly said my name as I whimper pulling the blanket over my head so he could not see me.
"Kyle, I'm not here to hurt you or anything, I'm here because of your brother Kevin."
I stick my head out slightly upon hearing my brother's name, only to see the cop standing in our doorway.
"W-what?"
The cop sighed softly. "Kyle, I'm going to take you to your brother. He's badly hurt and he needs you their."
I shake some of the covers off now worried. "Where is he?"
"In the hospital."
I knew the hospital, we went their before when Dad broke his leg after falling off the roof.
"O-okey." I agreed getting up.
...
The cop let me ride up front and it was cool seeing all the new things in the car but I was wondering why Kevin was in the hospital.
The cop said nothing, he did not answer any of my questions, saying it's not his place. I was confused about it but let it go.
When we pull up to the hospital the cop led me inside protecting me from the storm on the way in.
He spoke to a lady who then looked at me and smiled. It was a sad smile that made me feel worried.
"Kyle? Come with me, I'll show you where you'd brother is at. But he's not awake so be quite, okey?"
I nodded while she took my hand leading me away from the cop and to a hallway filled with rooms.
We walked down untill we were close to the end of the hall then stopped at room 121.
She knocked softly and a man in a white coat opened the door.
"Yes?" He asks sighing out.
"This is Kevin's little brother, Kyle, he will like to see his brother."
The Doctor looked unhappy but nodded his head softly.
He looks over at me and smiles faintly. "You can come in but be quiet, he needs lots of rest."
I nod eager to see my brother, asleep or not.
But when the Doctor opened the door more for me to go in, I began to freak out.
Kevin was covered in brownish- blackish-blue spots. A few small cuts on his face and arms, even though his left arm was bandaged up. One of his legs where also wrapped up tightly while Kevin's face, even asleep, looked like he was in pain.
Tears fell down my face as I began to cry. The Doctor said nothing but watched as I walked over to my brother and laid my head down next to him.
I whimper as I slowly get onto the bed, the Doctor saying nothing as I laid down next to Kevin carefully to avoid hurting him more.
•the Doctor watched as dread filled him. He knew this was going to be hard on the young boy and Decided only after he has calmed down to tell him about his parents death. He knew he should have told the boy he was not aloud to lay next to his brother but said nothing as he watched Kevin's pain filled face. He watched somewhat shocked as the pained look he wore in his deep sleep faded quickly, as he seemed more relaxed at his brothers contact. Almost like he knew his brother was with him, and felt better now that he was not alone. The Doctor shook his head leaving the room for now. Letting the younger brother calm down. •
