My mouth went dry, and tears started to form in my eyes. I felt like screaming but I knew I couldn't. I began to shake violently in fear. I couldn't control myself. Cameron grabbed me and tried to prevent me from shaking.
"Kate calm down." Cameron whispered softly.
The tree branches above us stopped shaking. I shut my eyes and tightly clenched my jaw. The branches above us flew off and Daniel jumped in where we were. I screamed as loud as I could as Daniel lunged toward me. He grabbed my arms and twisted them behind my back. I squirmed and grunted in pain.
"LET ME GO! HELP!" I screamed.
Cameron was already on top of Daniel. Cameron's arms around Daniel's neck. Daniel was sputtering for air that he couldn't get. He finally let go of me and flipped Cameron over onto his back.
"RUN KATE! GET OUT OF HERE NOW!"
"No, no Cameron I can't!"
"PLEASE GO KATE I DON'T WANT YOU TO SEE THIS!" Cameron grunted as he continued to wrestle Daniel.
I turned an ran as fast as my legs would carry me. I couldn't run anymore I was so frightened for my life. I dove behind some bushes and covered my ears as I sobbed. I could hear a few screams in the distance and some struggling. Then, silence. I slowly peered my tear- stained face over the top of the bushes. I saw Cameron kneeling on the ground panting hard, and his head was down. I slowly got up on my shaky legs and walked forward about 100 meter until I reached them.
"Cameron?"
"It's okay Kate."
"Where's Daniel?" I said nervously.
"Kate.-"
"Wha-what happ-"
"Just go over there and look away please."
"Cam-"
"Please." He said as he looked up at me with a cut up face and sorrowful eyes.
I turned away and walked back a few meters. I could hear Cameron grunt and it sounded like he was walking away. I turned my head slowly, disobeying Cameron's wishes. Cameron was walking away. With a lifeless Daniel in his arms. I can't believe this. It's over.
Cameron killed Daniel.
He's gone. All we have left hunting us is Jack and we have no idea how capable of anything he is.
