I wake up, and stretch my arms above my head. Its almost as if all the stress is being released through my arms and out my fingertips, like electric waves through an electric circuit. I feel like a huge weight that was pushing, digging into my shoulders has been released. I start to move slowly, to get myself, out  of bed. My feet touch the wooden floor, first my toes, then the pads of my feet, and finally my heels. I stand up and start to shuffle my feet toward the door. I can feel myself becoming dizzy. My knees buckle in and become weak, and my body hits the floor with a loud thunk.

"Kate, are you okay, Kate?" I hear my mom yell.

I can't muster enough energy to yell back though, and the truth is, I'm not okay. I hear fast- paced footsteps come up the stairs.

"Kate, Kate?"

I see her feet running toward me, and I see her lean down to scoop me up. I feel my body being picked up, and I  stare at the ceiling. The world is spinning fast, in circles. The ceiling is becoming black, and getting increasingly darker, and darker.

"Kate? Kate?"

I open my eyes, and see my mom hovering over me.

"Mom?"

"Kate thank goodness you're okay!"

"What happened?"

"You fainted."

I look around. I know this place, I'm on the living room couch.

"Mom, any news about the court case?"

My mom breathed in slowly. A thin smile came to her lips.

"Mom?"

"He's been found guilty."
