I put up walls around my heart
So no one could get in
But you found a way
You pushed your way into my heart
Broke down those walls
And I didn't want you to leave
You showed me how to love
How to open myself
How to be myself
But when you left
Everything changed
I fixed those walls
Made them stronger than before
Now I find it difficult
To let anyone else in
I closed myself
I hid myself
But you showed me one more thing
How to endure a broken heart
And now I'm stronger
Now I'm braver
One day I will tear down those walls
And open my heart
To someone new
Because I know
A broken heart will heal
