Chappie 9
Stella POV
The walk to the end of the hallway was short. Only little lights on the walls were lighting up the hallway, since the overhead lights were turned off for the night. A gentle knock on Nate’s door was enough of a signal for Carmen to throw said door open and drag me inside. In the blink of an eye, Jasmine tied me up in ropes while Carmen forced me into a spinning office chair. The room was dark so I couldn’t tell where they were taking me. The spinning stopped and a bright light was shown in my face.
“Ah, my retinas!” I screamed from the burning brightness. My poor eyes adjusted to the light. Nate was sitting in front of me, across a table, in a backwards chair. His attire consisted of a beige trench coat, an inspector’s hat, and a pair of shades. “What’s with the ropes, Inspector Gadget?”
“The ropes, Madam, are necessary to make sure you do not escape again. I like your shirt by the way.” He gestured to my meme shirt while taking out a pipe. I just narrowed my eyes when bubbles started floating out instead of smoke…
The twins where busy fiddling around with things just out of sight. Jasmine was taking measurements and writing stuff down while Carmen had a magnifying glass above my ears in an attempt to see how they attach and if I still had my human ears. “Um, I don’t think I'm going to try and escape since I came here willingly.”
Jaz and Carm finished what they were doing and went around the table on Nate’s side. I think they forgot to untie me. Nate turned around in his chair with the twins at his side “All right, explain,” they all said it at the same time which was kind of creepy. They leaned forward in anticipation for what I'm going to say.
I told them everything that has to do with my ears and tail. I left out the detail that the people who attacked me and locked me up in the basement were my so called family. If they knew that, I'm not sure how they would react. From what they just learned, they were already on the verge of tears and either hugging me or petting my ears or both.
Sooner or later they untied me and the lights were turned on. It turns out that they took me into a mini kitchenette in a far corner of Nate’s room. We moved to the couch in the living room since that is where we were all going to sleep. I had already showed them my bracelet and how many weapons it was possible to hide on my body at once. I had also told them about Kate and that she makes a good friend.
It was way passed 3 a.m. and Nate and I had practice early in the morning, so the logical thing was for us to sleep. Nate, of course, had his bed, and then the rest of us had the couch. Let me take a moment to describe his couch. It is a large, black, fluffy, c shaped sectional that could swallow a ton of people. I had one end that was filled with pillows; the twins had the rest to themselves. Needless to say it was the best small amount of sleep I have ever had.
Morning came too fast for my liking. I woke up at 6 to go get changed after saying goodbye to the twins and Nate. I pounced on Kate’s bed for revenge and to wake her up for training. “WAKEY WAKEY SLEEPY HEAD!!!!” Ah yes, so much fun. She jumped up and fell off the bed while screaming some weird stuff.
“DEFEND THE NORTH TOWER FROM TROLLS!” She shot up, yelling orders from League of Legends. I laughed a few times before telling her we start training today. The way her hair was made her look like Darth Vader, so when she said she was going to get dressed and couldn’t find her cape I was delayed for another 5 minutes by laughing.
