Hiya guys haha. Looks like I’m back to my old schedule. :P Sorry! So I’m thinking about getting rid of Namie since she doesn’t really make that many appearances, but I hope you still enjoy this chappie! And remember I enjoy every comment :D
Chappie 11
Stella POV
Nate eventually woke up from the smell of food sometime after Ace and I had already eaten. “Hey, you can go grab some food if you want.” I nudged Nate with my boot to gain his attention. “I think we are done with training for the day considering that it’s like 3 o’clock so we can just relax.” I received a disgruntled murmur from him before he picked himself off the floor and staggered for the lunch line. Almost immediately after he left, that guy who was sitting with Nichole before the fight showed up at our table. His appearance made Ace sit up from his sleeping position on the table to pay attention.
I looked up at him with a raised eyebrow to question his presence here since he was associated with the object of my rage. He looked nervous and guilty at the frown growing on my face at first but his expression later turned to an apologetic one. “Look, I’m sorry for Nichole attacking you. If I hadn’t pointed you out, then she never would have noticed.” His voice came out smooth and deep, exactly what you would expect from a guy his size. “My name is Ryan Sumnter by the way.” Ryan’s normally near expressionless pale face contorted to one of a puppy as he asked for forgiveness. His last name seemed familiar to me but I just couldn’t figure out how.
The way he acted made me overlook his tall lanky stature. I thought for a moment before saying sure and nodding as an okay. “Fine I forgive you. I still want to kill her though.” The thought of that person made the water bottle I was drinking from boil in my hand. Ace glanced at me and slid back in his chair some to create some safe distance. Some of the plastic melted so a hole formed, causing the water to spill out on the table.
I pouted at the now useless water bottle while Ace introduced himself to Ryan. “How’re ya, mate? The name’s Ace, my main job is a sniper, but I also specialize in boxing and close quarters combat. What about you?” Ace seemed to question what happened to my water bottle but I waved him off, too interested in what Ryan’s talents might be.
“Well it’s nice to meet you. I have a nickname, but not many people call me it because they don’t know what I can do.” He paused for a moment to think. “Here, it might be better if I just show you.” In a blink he was gone, like invisible gone. I relied on my hearing and sense of smell to see if he might have gone anywhere but everything was indicating that he was still here. But then my useless water bottle started floating in the air as though a hand was holding it. Then Ryan’s voice could be heard and it didn’t sound like he went anywhere. “This,” he reappeared in the same spot he had been in before, ”is why I have the nickname Ghost. It’s pretty self-explanatory right?” He stuck his hand through the table as if it was water.
I stared with wide eyes and no logical explanation for how that is possible. “I should probably be asking how that is possible, but at the same time I have not room to talk.” I received a short chuckle from the two of them at my implied joke. “Anyways, my name is Stella. I have many weapons, most are blades, and I can use fire. I have 10 years of martial arts, fighting experience, and training.” I saw Ryan’s eyes widen a fraction of an inch while Ace didn’t bother to hide his surprise. Ryan recovered faster than Ace though and asked a question I was hoping to avoid.
“Okay so now that we know each other, I would like to ask you a question Stella.” He paused for a moment to take an open seat at our table. Here comes the big question. “How do you know Nichole?” The question hit me like a ton of bricks.
