Chapter 5

Hello My lovely Readers(: 

Just to let you know, the reason I am uploading so frequently is because it is the weekend. During the week the updates will slow down tremendously. Like to the point it will most likely be once maybe twice in the week. But on the weekend it will pick up some. 

I was also wondering if anyone would make a cover for the book? I'm terrible at it. I would give credit to the person. Just erm, let me know through a message please(:

I stretched out my tensed body and yawned. It was the day before one of my best friends birthday. His big 18th. I smiled as I sat up and rolled my shoulders. Tomorrow he would hopefully find his mate in the pack. My stomach tightened a bit at the thought of it being Skylar. On one hand, I would be extremely happy that he finally found his mate and it would be someone he really liked, but then I would also be sad that it meant there was no chance of me being her mate. 

I sighed and pushed the thought from my mind. I would still be best friends with both of them, so I would be happy. i checked my phone and smiled when i saw that Skylar tected me to call her. I dialed her number and waited for her to pick. 

'Caaaaain!" She said excitedly. I laughed. 

"Skylaaaaar." I heard her giggle. "You've had no sleep have you?" 

"Nope, nope. None at all. I'm soooo glad you're awake. Derek whimped out on me and his asleep." I heard the pout in her voice. I smiled. 

"What can I help you with, my lady?" I asked. Everyone knew that for once on the campus, Skylars orders today matched the same authority as Alpha's. She had begged and pleaded with Alpha to ignore that she was our Omega, and let her have some power today so she made sure everything was perfect for Ryder's birthday. 

"I need some help with getting the place set up for the party. I am having to do most of the pre cooking and getting other stuff together. Can you help me Cain?" I smiled a bit. 

"Of course I can help you." 

"Good. One more thing. You can see Ryder all you want today, but at 11 tonight, you can't see him any more until the party tomorrow. Kay?" She said. I hesitated a bit confused. 

"And why can't I?" 

"Because, I want us to see him at the party." She sounded unsure now. I nibbled my lip a little. 

"I didn't mean to upset you my dear. I just think Ryder is going to be a little down if he can't spend his birthday with us." She was quiet for a couple minutes. 

"Ok. How about we compromise. We spend all spend the night at my house tonight, wake up, have a late birthday breakfast, and then we can leave for a bit to make sure that everything is ready, and that he has time to get ready, and then we meet up again at the party?" She said. I smiled. 

"I like that idea a lot better, my dear. Now, text me the address and I will get everything handled for the party. You handle the food and when Derek wakes up, I'll get him to go hunt down the presents we want for him. Sound like a plan?" I heard her giggle again. Wow, she really was tired. 

"Of course, of course." She said happily. "I'll see you tonight." She hung up. I sighed and hit the end button then got in the shower to get ready.

I rubbed my eyes as I sat outside in my truck in front of Skylar's house. I knew the three of them in the house knew I was here but they hadn't come out, which I was happy for. I leaned back in my seat and looked at the house. I sighed. I was so unsure about finding my mate tomorrow. I licked my suddenly dry lips and closed my eyes. I would do anything to have Skylar as my mate. I would go through anything that life threw at me, as long as I knew that she was by my side.
