Storm
The cool breeze twirled my short hair into little knots as I walked slowly up the long and winding hill path. The grass was wet underfoot and as the rain pounded down like tiny icicles. I had no idea why I desired to out that day, but it felt as though something was calling me. That something good was going to happen.
As my mind trailed of to the sound of free whispers and rain drops against puddles, I was suddenly interrupted by a low bark from overhead. My eyes flickered to where it came from and a large dog began running full pelt towards me.
I crouched down and as the black dog wagged his tail in excitement and entwined my fingers through its thick black fur.
Who did it belong to?
Why was nobody with him?
The dogs floppy ears lifted up in awareness, when he turned around before trotting back the way he had came.
And that was when my curiosity got the best of me.
I zipped up my dark purple rain coat and follow the dopey dog. His head occasionally turning to the sound of rabbits disturbing the hedges, and his big black nose following any unknown scents.
We had finally reached the top. The wind had grown even stronger, and mystical lingering mist covered the floor. I turned my head to the view. Rolling hills towered over the village like giants and little speckles moved around like ants. I felt as though I was at the top of the world and took a deep, drawn out breath until I heard it.
"There you are!"
The deep voice echoed through my mind, sending electric shocks all around my frozen body. It was him the boys I had waited so long to see, the boy who gained the power to memorize me ever since we exchanged long memorable glances. I paused, my eyes widening in shock it wasn't until he gave me a big friendly smile that I realised that I had been standing there for like an idiot, staring at him with locked eyes for over five minutes.
"Hey," he called, waving his hand, pulling his excitable dog to the bench he was sitting on.
I felt my cheeks flush red and I turned away from him. I needed to get out of there! He couldn't see me like that! I picked up my pace and my breath became heavy.
"Wait don't go."
I froze, clenching my sweaty fists. I could imagine him behind me in that grey hoodie and black jeans. My eyes tightly shut and I awkwardly turned to face him, my furry hood covering my face.
"Come," he gestured, friendly patting the seat next to him. I stiffly walked over and sat against the damp bench, and instantly I was trapped into a realm of endless possibilities. His eyes blazed an aqua blue like the tropical seas, full of life and creativity. His cheeks were flushed a slight red from the biting cold and his lips curved into a smouldering grin making me want to melt into the puddle beneath me.
"Why are you nervous?" He asked, wondering why I was awkwardly edging away and tightening my hands.
"I..I don't know." I replied quietly, my voice cracking as I stared into those intense orbs.
"You don't have to hide." He said softly, placing his hand on mine and gently pulling my hood down before putting a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Don't I." I smiled, wishing we could stay like this forever.
"Nope, and you know why?" He whispered, leaning in, his warm breath spreading across my cold cheeks.
"Why?" I choaked, not believing that I was finally by his side, face to face like I had wanted to from the beginning.
"Because, well you're beautiful."
And just like that he very hesitantly brushed his lips against mine. Heat exploded through my me unlike any other. And when I didn't move, when I was enduring that incredible feeling he did it again, a little more confidently this time. And before we could stop, we became part of the ever lasting storm that raged between us and our arms entwining up each others necks. Pulling each other in tighter, closer trying to see that incredible feeling inside of us.
His large hands cupped my face and he slowly forced himself away, his smile bigger than ever.
"Why did you do that?" I asked, gasping for air, wondering why he had kissed me, why he'd finally let himself speak to me.
"Because lets just say, I like really like you, and I have ever since I laid eyes on you."
I froze, was it true? did you really love me? My heart fluttered wildly like a trapped bird feeling as though it was about to explode out of my chest at any moment.
"I like you too..." I whispered running my hair through his smooth golden hair looking at his exquisite face one last time.
Those amazing eyes
Warm lips
Those soft, warm lips.
They just invited me to kiss them, but I knew I couldn't.
"Promise me we can do this again sometime?" He asked his words moving against my quivering mouth.
"Most certainly." I breathed, my breaths shaking as they left my fluttering chest.
"I'll look forward to it" he whispered in my ear before I closed my eyes, shivering at the sound of his voice.
And when I opened them again he was gone, leaving the wonderful sensation of his warm lips against mine.
