Christopher
The first time I saw her, looking around her so innocently after she closed the cafe, something lit up inside me. It was the first time in a year that I really wanted to approach someone, and I wanted to talk to her, but it was late at night, and I would've looked like a creep. Until I saw that guy, lingering in the corner, just waiting to get his pray. So, I did the only thing I could think of, and the smile I got in return was so worth it.
Now, here we are, eating lunch together on her day off. Which was forced upon her. I thought she was going to order a salad or something, like.. my ex-fiancee. But to my surprise, after I order a stake, she ordered spaghetti with shrimp, and that brought a stupid smile to my face.
"What are you smiling about?"
I looked up at her, her eyes sparkling with a hint of a smile. "Nothing." I shook my head.
"Tell me."
I looked at her expectantly, assuming she'd let it go. It was stupid anyway. After I figured she's not letting it slide, I let out a sigh, smiling. "I thought you would order a salad."
Apparently, my response was funny. "Pfft, if I wanted a salad, I'll make one at home. Besides, are you implying I should eat a salad or something?" She caught me off guard there.
"Um, no not at all," I said, looking at her amused smile, and I didn't want to talk about Kate. "It's just that every girl I was ever involved with would order a salad, so they don't 'get fat', and they don't even finish it. So, I would end up eating while they're looking at me. And that's just awkward."
"That's stupid. I think you're gonna be the one looking at me while I'm eating, if anything." She laughed, an honest laugh that was like a breath of fresh air from what I'm used it. I can tell that she is more comfortable with me now, after we spent the last few hours together.
"Hey, that's fine by me, Sweetcheeks."
"Again with the sweetcheeks?"
"I told you..it suits you"
She blushed, at the nickname I guess, and lowered her head a bit, which I found really cute. I put my elbows on the table, making her look up at me. As I was about to speak, the meals arrived. Thanking the waiter, she smiled at him, and I could've sworn he just stood there, looking at her with an open mouth. And I couldn't blame him.
She looked adorable with her brown sparkling eyes, and strong attractive bone structure. Her eyes kind of close up when she smiles, making her even more adorable. I actually felt sorry for the guy, as she just looked at him weirdly, then looking at me, as if asking me what's his deal. I shook my head and laughed, telling the guy that that's all we needed, snapping him back into reality. He just cleared his throat, mumbling something under his breath then smiled at us, walking away.
I laughed, looking at her bewildered expression. "Did I do something funny?"
"Nope."
"Then what was that all about?"
"Oh, nothing. He's a teenager, he probably got nervous or something." I said, waving it off as I found it so incredibly attractive that she really didn't know why he stared at her like that.
"Okay.." she took a taste of her meal, closed her eyes, and let out a content sigh. "This is just so delicious! Here, try it."
I just looked at her, an amused smile on my face I'm sure, then watched as she swirled the fork around in her plate, the added a shrimp on it, before moving her hand closer to my face, her other hand under it so she wouldn't spill anything. "Open up," She said, smiling at me.
