When she dies

Sad mother

"She has painted tears on her cheeks. She doesn't talk and it's just...she sad."
"Did someone pass away?"
"No. She was fine until just a few days ago. I thought that it was just about my father. But it wasn't cause when I asked she just shook her head. It's weird."
"And we can't ask Marin. She isn't doing well either."
"What happened?"
"She can barely be her human form. It feels like death all over again for her when she's like that."
"I really do miss the old times."
"I do to. The fact that she returned for us it's just...I can barely believe it."
"She's new to this. She has been only doing this for 3ish 4ish years. When she changes it really hurts her."
I look over to Marin. Still wrapped in her hair. "It saddens me greatly." I sigh. "I was kinda getting over it but when she returned...it hurt all over again. It hurts. Seeing her again makes me worried and I get close to tears."
Lily puts her hand on my shoulder. We stand at the doorway of my bedroom. We watch Marin lay there peacefully.
She shuffles around a little bit then the hair shortens to hip length. I walk over.
"Hey." I say warmly.
She simply smiles. A moment later she stops smiling and looks at the entrance. Lily leans against the door frame crossing her arms worried.
She stands and walks to Lily. Her eyes widen. Marin gets close and looks into her eyes. Lily getting scared. Marin then fades away.

I stand in my human form.
Lily's Mother sits on her dark blue couch the tv buzzing. Her hands folded her long sleeved white cardigan hangs loosely her light blue t shirt lies against her perfectly. Her light sweat pants tight along her skinny hips. Her bare feet against the grey carpet. Her sweet orange hair up in a bun. Her smile sad.
I rise from the ground and stand in front of her. She slowly lifts her head up smiling at me.
"Marin?"
I sit on the coffee table in front of her my legs crossed. She cups a side of my pale face. "Is that really you?"
I'm sorry she is seeing more than she should of.
But she isn't the only one shocked.
Her husband stands behind her. Pale and bloated. Opening and closing his mouth. Blood splattered on his shirt.
She drowned him.
When he had his last breath she slit his throat.
I thought he had been kidnapped.
And was...killed.
She lied.

She didn't call the police.

It all makes sense now.

Flash back
"DINNERS READY GIRLS!"
When me Bella and Lily were children everything was happiness.
"Hey mommy? Wasn't there a door here before?"
"Yes sweet heart but the government had to take it for secret stuff."
"Cool!!"
I was so blind. How could of I have been too happy to realize the lying in her voice? The voice mothers would make to children when they would try to lie. For even the stupidest things.
A monster.
Reality
I stand looking at her with shock.
"Marin? What is it?"
"Monster." I whisper taking a step back.
She stands. I take more steps back in shock. "Marin I don't know what your talking about what-"
"Stay.Back!"
"Marin wait I-"

I slam open a door and slam it closed barricading it with hair.
She kicks at the bathroom door.
I stand there eyes widened in shock.
Dry blood covers the tile floor. Cracks against the bath. Bloody water.
Like it had happened moments ago.
She hasn't touched it sense.
Vines hang on the wall.
Help written in massive letters against another wall. Written in blood.
How can someone act so innocent after this? Go on with a sweet warm smile. Raising someone so sweet and beautiful. Looking happy.
It's made her insane.
A beast.
Another kick. She rips it open.
"NO ONE IS GOING TO KNOW THIS!!" She grabs a knife and begins to cut. "IM GOING TO KILL YOU!!" She doesn't know.
She doesn't know I am already dead.
She's to corrupted to figure things out.
"Ariana look at yourself. Your becoming a-"
"SHUT UP MARIN!"
The pain becomes unbearable.
I show her my true form.
The hip long black hair. The grey withered skin. Bony, skinny arms. Long white dress. Covering my bare grey feet.
Her eyes widen. "Your fooling with my mind. YOUR NOT MARIN!!"
"Ariana." My voice scratchy and whispery scares her. "I have been dead for 3 years. Your corruption has taken over... you forgot."
"No! You can't be! She can't be!-"
"Ariana. Look at my eyes."
She looks into them. She shakes her head no.

Lily stands. Ariana cries into her hands.
I can't kill her. Lily must be the one.
To be able to let someone leave.
Your the one who has to let them go.
Bella leans against the wall arms crossed a knee bent.
I stand beside her head bowed.
"Were you able to get anything out of Ariana?"
A nod.
"Really? What?"
I look at her with concern. She raises and eye brow.
I go over to Lily. She looks over. My head next to hers.
"Marin?"
Ariana shivers.
"A word." I say with a deep voice.
We go over to the entrance of the stairs. Bella and Lily stand next to each other in front of me. Bella's arms still crossed.
"Marin what is it?"
I make eye contact with Lily. Showing that she must follow me. I slowly walk up the stairs. A moment later they follow me.
I stand in front of the entrance to the bathroom.
I point.
Lily slowly head inside. She gasps.
Bella runs in. "Oh my god.." She whispers.
I enter in brushing past them.
I stand in the middle of the room.
"You know what must be done."
Lily shakes her head no. "Lily?"
"WH-WHY DO WE HAVE TO KILL SOMEONE CAUSE OF WHAT THEY DID?!? CANT WE JUST HIDE IT?!?"
"It's the right thing to do."
"Fuck that shit Bella! Last time we did that Marin comes back as a restless spirit!"
"LILY!" Bella yells.
"I DONT CARE IM NOT DOING IT!!"
I bow my head down. I glare at the bloody floor.
"If you don't. I will and she will suffer."
"Your a fucking monster."
"I may be. But your mother isn't doing to well either."
She growls and lunges at me. I move out of the way. She falls forward. She then gets up. "FIGHT ME INSTEAD OF BEING A BITCH!"
Bella stands out of the way knowing I can handle myself.
"Lily. There is no need for this."
She holds out her hand.
An unexpected power.
She forces my human form upon me. Pain swifts through me and I fall over. Bella catches me. My eyes black.
"Lily. Stop this."
"Bella. We don't need her! We can take my mother and go into hiding! We can protect her! We can finally live normal lives. Can't you see? She brings the danger to us! What will it be? Your family? Or a ghost?"
"I choose family. NOT a traitor. Goodbye Lily."
She jerks out a gun and points it at Bella. "Bitch."
She pulls the trigger.
The bullet stops in mid air right in the middle of them.
Lily is unable to move. All she can do is move her eyes.
Darkness surrounds me. My dead form returns. I stand. Anger boiled up in me.
Ariana runs up. She throws a knife. It stabs my back. A dark circle surrounds it.
"Goodbye restless spirit."
I fall backwards the knife going through me completely.
Bella shakes with fear.
My hands rest on my stomach.

Silence.
