Clarke descended the ladder leading to the bunker, her stomach twisted. It had been her turn to go looking for food, and the hatch had been open when she had returned.
"John?" She called out, using his first name to show that she was being serious. If this was a prank, she wouldn't be happy.
Clarke jumped down from the last prong and spun around, the image before her making her jaw drop. "Oh my God, Murphy!" She rushed over to where he lay face-first on the ground. It was apparent when she turned him around that the pool of blood beneath him had stained his already sweat-soaked skin.
A crack from somewhere in the bunker made her jump, and she viciously wiped away her tears so she could see. She tore herself away from her lover's motionless body and frantically scanned the area for any sign of danger.
One thing was clear: Whoever did this was still here.

Here's a quickie.
Probably not exactly what you wanted and/or expected, and I hate to leave you with this, but you'll have to wait until next chapter to see what happens ;)Also, I have another new story, and the reason I keep creating them is revealed in the author's note of its first chapter. Check it out if you want, but if you don't, don't. Thank you everyone!
