My POV
"No no no you're right it's definitely weird, ok Bobby, thanks." Sam says as he hangs up while Dean hits the duke box with his fist trying to make it work,
"What's up?" He asks walking back over,
"Uuuh, Bobby found something in Wyoming." Sam replies opening his laptop,
"A job?" I ask,
"Maybe." Sam replies not looking up from the laptop in concentration,
"Small town, no one's died in the past week and a half." He continues,
"That so unusual?" I ask confused,
"Well, it's how they're not dying. One guy with terminal cancer strolls out of hospice, another guy gets capped by a mugger, walks away without a scratch." Sam explains,
"Capped in the ass?" Dean asks,
"Police say Mr. Jenkins was shot in the heart at point blank range by a 9 millimetre." Sam quotes,
"And he's not a donut?" Dean asks with an eyebrow raised,
"Locals are saying it's a miracle." Sam reads out
"Of course." I reply,
"Ok." Dean says with a 'fair enough face', I feel a bit of tension,
"It's gotta be something nasty, right? Maybe people making deals or something?" Sam pushes,
"You think?" Dean replies a hint of attitude, what else have I missed,
"What else would it be?" Sam asks with a confused expression,
"I don't know." Dean replies almost to causally mouth full of food,
"You finished Vil?" Sam asks as if suddenly remembered I was here,
"Yeah." I reply with a bit of confusion,
"Good, alright, get that to go." Sam then says to Dean, "Come on." He says packing up his stuff and standing up as I stack my stuff but Dean remains seated.
Sam takes a couple of steps then looks back at Dean with a little of a worried and confused look. I look from on to the other standing in the middle of them. Sam shoulders his bag,
"What?" He asks Dean who had still not gotten up and is now looking up at him with an eyebrow raised again,
"Sure you want me to go with you?" He asks too casually,
"Why wouldn't I?" Sam asks confused,
"I don't know, I don't wanna be holding you back or nothing." Dean replies almost as if taking a stab at something,
"Dude, I've told you a hundred times, that was the siren talking, not me. Can we get past this?" Wait siren!? Ok, definitely missed something, get passed what? Dean throw down his half eat huger and dusts his hands,
"Yeah we're past it." He replies not looking at Sam, do these two just have a list of things to bring up with each other, seems so.
We walk out of the diner and get into the Impala and head of to Wyoming with the tension still fairly high.
We drive to Mr. Jenkins house in Greybull, Wyoming and Dean's turns around to face me,
"Stay here, if anyone asks, you're waiting for your two journalist and your the editor." Dean instructs. I nod and he and Sam get out and walk to the front door, knick and are let in.
Sam's POV
"Now you two said you are bloggers?" Mr. Jenkins asks as he sits down at the table,
"Yes, sir. Flooredbythelord.com."
"All God's glory fit to blog." Dean says with a bit of a chuckle, I clear my throat and continue,
"Some of the people around town are saying what happened to you was a miracle." I state,
"It was, plain as day." Jenkins replies immediately,
"How can can you be so sure?" I question,
"How else do you explain it? The doctors can't." He reasons, "There's a bullet in my heart. Its pumping like a piston.
"Well how do you explain it?" Dean's asks looking at him with subtle suspicion. Jenkins looks from Dean to me then to his daughter in the next room then to us,
"Look, honestly... I was nobody's saint. Not exactly father of the year either." He starts,
"Okay." Dean says like continue,
"But when that guy shot me and I didn't bleed a drop, I just knew the Lord was giving me a second chance."
"That so?" Dean questions,
"I had this feeling like angels were watching over me. I wouldn't expect you guys to understand." He says leaning back into the chair, we do and not all angels are good, we know that for a fact. Let's out a breath,
"Well we'll just have to try." He replies,
"You wouldn't of happened to have swung by a crossroads in the past week or so?" I asks casually,
"No." Jenkins replies,
"Maybe you met someone, with black eyes, or red?" I question further,
"Who'd you guys say you were again?" Jenkins ask a little suspicious,
"Never mind. Thank you for your time." Dean say quickly and we both get up and walk back to the car.
"Anyone come by?" I ask Vil,
"Nope, so, anything suspicious?" She asks,
"Besides the fact Jenkins has a bullet in his healthy beating heart, not that we picked up." Dean replies,
"It's still in him? That is weird." Vil says,
"Your tellin' us." Dean replies as he drives to hotel and we check in.
My POV
They decide that Dean will search up how long ago the last person in the town died with my help while Sam goes to interview the formally cancer patient. An hour or so later Sam walks back into the room.
"Hey." Sam says as he walks in,
"Anything?" Dean asks,
"That cancer survivor? He was clinically dead. His wife pulled the plug and now he's taking her out for their 20th anniversary." Sam informs
"Any sign of a deal?" I ask,
"No. What about you two, find anyone dying around here?" Sam replies,
"Not since Cole Griffith." I reply,
"He dropped 10 days ago, it was the last death we could find." Dean continues,
"So what are you thinking?" Sam asks,
"Maybe it is what the people say it is." Dean says standing up from the laptop
"Miracles? Dean, our experience, when do miracles just happen?" Sam reasons,
"Well there's no deals, there's ah, no skeevy faith healers. I mean, these souls just ain't getting dragged into the light."
"Maybe cause there's no one around to carry them?" I suggest casually as I sit at the table with Sam, come to think of it, two people dying and I don't sense and sort of other being, yes I can sense reapers, the have a certain energy that I can pick up on.
"What do you mean?" Dean asks walking back over with his coffee to us and Sam turns to look at me as well,
"Well, grim repeats, that's what they do, right, schlep souls?" I point out,
"So if death ain't in town-" Sam continues,
"-Then nobody's dying." Dean finishes. "So, what, the local Reaper's on strike? Playing the black nine? I don't know you two." Dean continues as he drinks his coffee,
"Well, then let's talk to somebody who might." Sam suggests,
"Well last I checked huggy bear ain't available." Dean replies sarcastically making me chuckle shaking my head.
