Chaos ensues.

Percy and Sven run back and forth, they haul all the animals together in one area, ready to direct them to a car when signaled. Annie and Zach pack provisions, or (more specifically) Annie adds to an already gigantic pile in Zach's arms. Ivy has disappeared; where she has gone is a complete mystery. Though the knowledge that she always had more common sense than me comforts me amidst the disquiet.

Annie, Percy and I had already packed suitcases of clothes so it's one less thing to worry about as I sprint up the stairs to the bathroom; packing essentials. Nathaniel has disappeared and the sound of insecurity and fear screams within my head. I walk briskly out of the bathroom and there he stands; his arms are crossed, his eyes pierce me with ferocity.

"What are your orders?"

"What did you say?"

"You seem to be ordering everyone to move, so what will my commands be?"

"Is there anything you can do about my car?"

He gazes at me; temporarily puzzled and I roll my eyes, pushing past him with items in tow.

"I have but 5 deeds, is this what you wish for me to do with one?" His voice is solemn, directed at my back. Halting in my steps I turn and regard him with curiosity, a heavy feeling sitting in my stomach.

"What do you mean?"

He sighs, his eyes close briefly and he pinches the bridge of his nose as if dealing with a petulant child. When his eyes meet mine again they appear weary for the first time.

"For the Apocalypse, we received no real warning, I was always the angel meant to start it though, God gave me the ability. I was given orders and before I knew it, I awoke here on Earth."

"Why can't you undo this?"

"Those were not my orders, I was not given the power nor permission to cease these happenings."

"But what were you saying about these deeds?"

His eyes darken a shade, suddenly as though I've been incarcerated, my attention is captured in its entirety by this angel.

"God gives us allowances for good deeds for the duration of our...'stay' on Earth, it depends on the battalion and our relevance to the situation. I was given 5..I can fix your car, even get you a new one, if that is your wish."

"I don't understand. What happens once you have used all of your deeds?" I swallow my concern, though I wonder if he notices it dancing within my irises.

"I cannot tell you yet. Choose what you ask of me wisely Lou."

"I need a new car, convenient and big enough to carry what we need. Fuel efficiency is no longer an issue, with all these problems arising, people will soon migrate to where the military advises."

"They advised Western Australia, everyone has fled already."

"No worries then?"

Nathaniel nods, and closes his eyes. I begin to turn but halt when Nathaniel holds his hands away from his body. His chest rises and falls as a small burst of light radiates from him.

Sweat starts to drip down his exterior, his muscles start to tremble with exertion. I take a step toward him as if drawn by the light and the dark curiosity lingering in the air.

I place a hand on his arm, his eyes light up like fire. The muscles beneath my fingertips quiver and something leeches onto my soul. His eyes look straight ahead, though they are not aimed at me I feel heat, temptation ignites my instincts; boiling my bloodstream. I feel myself smirk, my free hand caresses his arm and travels over his hard chest, I bite my lip and push myself into him, morally unaware, sweetly uninhibited.
