School sucked ass. I woke up late. Was late for school. Tripped. Didn't put on makeup. Didn't do my hair. Didn't eat breakfast. I couldn't wait to graduate so I could go away. I needed to make myself disappear and by that time my mother would be okay. The first day back without Oliver was bad. During first period English I had to deal with my asshole of an English teacher and I just didn't want to. I could tell he was going to be an ass when I walked in late and he gave me detention. When I shrugged he asked if I wanted to have a chat with the principal and my face turned as pink as my hair.
Second period gym I tried skipping but the assistant principal asked me why I was going in the opposite direction of class. I didn't want to face Oliver.Instead I found Jackson. He was walking with a few of his friends with whatever he was so secretive with when I kind of interrupted to say hi.
"Hey Mary Jane! These are my friends Rachel, Kyle, and Terry." He put an arm on my shoulder and gestured to everyone. They didn't seem very welcoming but I waved hello all the same.
Jackson began talking as if his friends hadn't given me the awkward stare.
"So Mary Jane is the girl I told you guys about at the carnival. She's super nice I swear guys. Definitely not as ferocious as her pink hair makes her out to be." He laughed at his own joke and I did too.
"Yeah it's nice to meet you all. I didn't mean to interrupt just want to see how Jackson was doing." I whispered. They made me shy.
"He's fine." Rachel was like an ice sculpture that didn't melt. Her face was a mix of anger and disgust and it only pointed to me. The defensiveness didn't put me at ease at all. I forced a smile.
"Cool. Well Jackson I'll be over at the benches. It was nice to meet you all." I waved as I backed away just as someone yelled for me to look out.
I ducked just in time for a basketball to hurdle into Rachel's face. My head whipped around angrily as she cradled her now bleeding nose. I saw a guy laughing hard and I stomped to him. Today was the wrong day.
"What the fuck is your problem? You hit that girl in the nose!" I couldn't stop myself.
"Chill, she's gonna be fine. Shit I probably did that mug a favor. It wasn't you, so just chill." He grinned a little and tried to grab for my arm. His voice was croaked like a frog and he creeped me out. Even the way his veins popped made me want to back track.
"Mary Jane? Mary Jane! We really need to talk!" Oliver was behind me and I spun just in time to see him grabbing my wrist.
"Well fuck off Ivy because she was clearly talking to me." He grabbed my other wrist.
I tried pulling it away but his grip was too tight. In fact, it fucking hurt. I kicked his shin as best I could causing him to let go but only for a second. Quicker than a blink he was back up but he didn't expect Oliver to be there right in his face. He paused. Oliver was like a tower of bricks and Harry was a pebble.
"That's why what I thought. Don't forget who I am, Harry." Oliver snarled lowly.
I shivered as Oliver almost dragged me away. He left class. He brought me all the way to outside and I looked around. I didn't need anyone seeing us. It would fuck everything up.
It would fuck everything up! Instead I grabbed him and rushed us back into the building and into the first door that wasn't a classroom or a place with people. Custodians room. It would have to do."Oliver we can't see each other anymore." I mumbled.
"What the fuck happened? Baby girl, what did I do? What have you heard?" He was getting loud. His hands found my waist in the dark and I found his neck.
