After the lesson finished, I gathered my notes. Harry left the room straight away, not bothering to stop and talk to mr. Peterson.
I slung my backpack on, and walked out. I decided to go to my dorm, knowing Michael would meet me there, as he usually did at this time. His roomate was a slight pervert that I did not like one bit, so I stayed away from Michael's room. Sure enough, he was stood there waiting for me.
"Hi, Brenna, I need something. I need your maths notes, me and Macie are having a facetime study session," he explained, pointing his phone towards me.
"Hi Macie," I smiled awkwardly.
"Hey, Brenna," she said, waving through the screen.
I tried my best to look positive as I stepped inside my dorm and grabbed the notes he needed. "Well, um, here you go."
He handed me a brief smile, and started to walk off.
"Did I ruin something between you two?" I heard Macie say through the phone.
"Us? Nah." I heard him reply, his voice fainter.
I leaned against my now closed door and sighed.
"What about our plans to go to Starbucks?" I mumbled faintly, to no one but myself really.
It wasn't Michael's fault, him and Macie were really trying to make this long distance thing work but it was hard, especially with him blowing me off often. I turned around and was about to step back into my room when I heard the familiar voice of Harry.
"Aw, ditched by your boyfriend?"
I breathed in and turned around, looking at Harry, who was leaning on the wall, his hair a lot more tousled. I wrinkled my nose in disgust as I imagined some of the things him and Lainy had probably done. His face was emotionless as per usual but the end of the right end of his mouth was pulled upwards, he was smirking.
"He's not my boyfriend." I snapped.
He laughed, a fake laugh. "Really? Because you two seem pretty close."
It was almost as if he was accusing me. "Yes, he's my best friend. What do you want Harry?"
"I want a tutoring session."
This caught me off guard, I didn't think he would come after he had stormed off today. "Well?" He asked, tapping his foot impatiently.
"No." I replied simply.
"Brenna," he warned, his voice low.
"I'm not going to tutor you." I repeated.
He took a step closer, and I took a step back, pressed against the door.
He chuckled, raising his eyebrows. "You really think you have a choice?"
"You can't force me to teach you anything," I shrugged.
He stopped, realising this was true. "Brenna."
"Harry."
"You're going to tutor me."
"No I'm not," I stated, and I decided to walk off. I'd go to Starbucks on my own.
As I turned to walk off however, he grabbed onto my arm, just above the elbow.
"What're you-" I spun around to tell him off but what I saw surprised me.
He wasn't smirking anymore, he was chewing on his lip. His eyes had dropped the hard look they usually had in them, and they were an impossibly light shade of green. He looked... worried? "Please?"
