Two weeks later
I sat in class, watching the stream of kids pour in. Most had a dull look in their eyes, dreading today. Today was the day we recieved the results for the test we had taken 3 days earlier; the one I had been tutoring Harry for. Well, I had. I hadn't spoken to him since the day he had thrown the history books on the floor and told me to fuck myself.
I had, however, tutored another girl for this test soon after. Her name was Autumn and she was a really pretty girl with blonde hair so white she looked like a ghost. She was nice though, and I think we were now friends. I looked at her as she walked in, rather pale.
"Hi," she whispered, sitting next to me.
"What's wrong?" I frowned, taking in her stiff posture.
"I'm gonna do bad, I know I've failed."
I smiled at her. "Oh come on, you know you haven't. Trust me, you did fine."
She relaxed slightly and smiled gratefully at me just as Mr. Peterson walked in, our marked test papers in his hand.
He sat as his desk and scanned the class. "Is everyone here?"
He didn't have to ask, we all knew Harry wasn't. He was late for the test too, he has walked in around ten minutes after it had started and he had sat down in the corner to take it.
He sighed and got up. His eyes scanned the room and locked on one of Harry's friends, Olly. "Olly, do you know where he is?"
Olly shrugged. "Probably on his way, he was with Mrs. Khan when I was walking to class."
Just as he said that, the door opened and Harry strode in, pausing to look at Mr. Peterson, and then at Olly. "Oh, I'm late," he declared, trying to keep his lips from curling upwards.
"You're late. Again. Harry, if you get one more late you know what'll happen-"
Harry shook his head in annoyance. "I know."
I kept silent as Mr. Peterson shook his head sadly, looking down at our test papers. Harry's eyes scanned the class, his gaze lingering on me for a split second, before he decided to walk up to Olly and sit next to his friend.
Mr Peterson then gave our test papers out, and when he gave Autumn her paper, I leaned to the side and grinned triumphantly. "See! I told you you'd to good!"
She had a sparkle in her eyes and she hugged me tightly. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She squealed. She had gotten 90%, which was really good since the test was quite hard, if I do say so myself. I got my paper and Autumn leaned over to read my score.
"What the heck?"
"What?" I turned, looking at her.
"Ninety nine percent. That's amazing, you're so smart!" She smiled at me, and I returned the smile.
"Thank you." I told her, looking back down at my paper, breathing out a sigh of relief. This was good, I got a good score. That's what I needed.
I turned my gaze from my paper to Harry, who was sitting at the far side of the class. He was looking at his paper, his eyes hard. I frowned and looked at Olly, who was whispering something to him. Harry must've gotten a bad score. Served him right.
I was going to pull out my phone to text Michael about my score, but then I remember we weren't speaking. Me and Michael had had an argument two days prior about how he was blowing me off in order to go and talk to Macie.
"She's my girlfriend, why wouldn't I want to talk to her?" He had asked, shaking his head in disbelief.
"I know but I'm supposed to be one of your best friends, you can't keep blowing me off like this!" I had protested.
