Wilbur didn't know what happened. One minute it seemed that everything was going okay but now, looking at his clients, he wanted to scream. They were literally glaring at each other. He tapped Kidada on her shoulder to see if she knew anything.
"What's the deal?"
"What?"
"These two!"
He realized he may have been a little too loud when he looked around the plane and saw everybody glance their way. He smiled before lowering his voice.
"What's going on with Liyah and Tim?"
"Oh. Them two. You got your work cut out for you baby. They got into about Drake being so damn touchy, feely at the fashion show."
Wilbur hadn't heard about that part. In fact, he hadn't paid attention to anything outside of making this retreat a success. And now, some unknown force was threatening it. He decided to look at Instagram to see if there was anything there. Not only did he find what he was looking for, he was surprised Tim was being so calm.
He scrolled through all of the post about #AaliyahandDrake until he got the Drake's actual page. When he saw the post and read the caption, all he could do was sigh and grab his nose.
"To say that it was an honor to be in your presence wouldn't do enough justice. An angel in the flesh, it was more like a blessing. You are my inspiration, my muse and my one wish I'm waiting to come true. You are the greatest, Aaliyah. I love you."
Wow. Wilbur couldn't believe the gall of Drake. This was a man's wife! What the hell? He looked over at them again. This was going to be a long three weeks.
Aaliyah didn't understand why Tim was so upset. She saw Drake as a fan and a colleague and found it flattering how much he enjoyed her as an artist. It was as if Tim had a natural dislike for Drake. She looked over at him and he glared back at her. She rolled her eyes and slung her hair before turning in her seat a little to watch the movie.
"You still not going to apologize huh?"
Aaliyah's head whipped around so quick it almost hurt.
"Apologize? Apologize for what?"
"The nigga was all over you! And you didn't seem to mind!"
"What the hell was I supposed to do Tim?! Slang him off of me in front of all those cameras so they could make it more than what it is?"
"Oh?! And what exactly is it?!"
"He's a damn fan most of all Tim! Damn!"
"A fan my ass! Fans don't get that close to touch like that. I think you like it!"
"Motha-"
Before they could get into it anymore, Rashad interrupted.
"Liyah, come sit back here with me for a minute."
She glared at Tim and jumped at him before getting up and going to the very back of the plane where Rashad was.
"Sis, he got a point."
"Really Rashad? Really?"
"He did get a little too close. I wanted to say something to him myself. But listen, I get it. I understand how you feel. But sis, you gotta understand where your HUSBAND is coming from too."
She rolled her eyes before sitting back in the seat. Rashad scrolled through his Instagram before handing the phone to his sister.
"Sis, how would you feel if Tim was all on some girl like this?"
She would hate it. The more she stared at the picture, the less anger she felt.
"It does look bad doesn't?"
"Go apologize to your man Lee."
She got up and walked back to her seat. Tim was looking out the window when she sat down. Before he could register what was going on, she grabbed his chin and turned his head toward her. She kissed him and gave him puppy dog eyes.
"I'm sorry."
He wanted to tell her that wasn't going to do it but he felt himself smiling and losing himself in her eyes. He leaned in and kissed her back.
Wilbur saw the exchange and felt a little better. Maybe this wouldn't be so hard after all.
