I drop the now empty bag of chips and stare at the figure in the doorway, with my mouth wide open filled with chunks of the potato chips.

"Devon...?" I whisper still at shock at a boy that was announced dead a few years ago.

"Cami?!" He begins to run toward me. I sit there, not moving a muscle as he unties me. he looks a lot different than he did when we were younger. His hair is much shorter than the shoulders length it used to be, his dark green eyes stare into mine as he fiddles with the rope on my wrists. I look towards his torso and biceps. No longer a skinny twig he used to once be.

Once he finally unties me my mouth is still open, And the chunks in my mouth untouched.

He stares at me in disgust and closes my mouth for me. "I've changed that much, huh?" he smirks as he grabs my hand, "Are you going to keep staring at me like that or are we going to get a move on?" he grunts as he pulls me to the door.

"Not until you tell me where you have been the past few years!" I scream, completely forgetting about my parents downstairs. i immediately cover my mouth and look at Devon.

In response, he grabs my arm as we run toward a room. Locking the door behind us,I lean against the door and cross my arms and catch my breath.

"Look, I know I haven't been around okay? I know that." He turns on a dim light in the small room and begins to walk towards me. "I don't need you to save me. Do you realize that I had to spend 8th grade and my freshman year by myself?" I frown and narrow my eye at him.

"Yes." He sighs.

"Then why? Why did you leave me by myself? We were supposed to be best friends."

"We are."

"No, we used to be."

That stops him right in his tracks and he looks to the ground in disappointment.

"I'm going to get some sleep," I point to the one twin sized bed in the room. "Goodnight." I frown, an with that I crawl into bed and pull up the covers, closing my eyes as I get ready for the next day to come.
