The Long Lost Brother - Dan Howell {On Hiatus}

Chapter 1

Alexa, also known as Lexa or Alex, was walking home with her best friend Kayla. It was a sunny Friday and the last day of term and so they were both in pretty good moods. They were talking about meeting up on Monday for a Starbucks, they arranged a time before Alexa crossed the road to her home.
'See you Monday!' She called out, unlocking her door.
'Yeah, have a nice weekend! See you Monday!' Kayla replied.
'You too, bye!' Replied Alexa as she stepped into the warmth and comfort of her home after a long day.

Alexa and her mother had lived alone since her father had passed away from cancer 5 years previously. The house smelt of fresh cakes and flowers. Candace, Alexa's mother, loved baking having taken a 2-year baking course at the university of York. She also had a home-run business of baking and decorating cakes, sometimes with the help of Alexa. Alexa's mother and father had met in high school, they really disliked each other for the first few years but got together in their last year only to break it off when they went to different universities. 3 Years later Candace had set up her business and Scott, her high-school boyfriend, placed an order for his brother and when they met old feelings resurfaced. They then got married another 3 years on.

'Honey is that you?' The voice of her mother rang through the house as Alexa kicked off her shoes.
'Yeah it is, mum' Alexa replied.
'How was your day? I'm in the living room.' Candace called.
'Okay, it was long but okay. I'm coming.' Alexa hung up her coat and walked through the kitchen, absent-mindedly grabbing an apple. She saw the blond hair of her mother as she reached the doorway but also someone she didn't recognise straight-away, slightly confusing her. Brown hair and brown eyes, with all black clothing, where had she seen that before? Then it hit her. Dan Howell A.K.A Danisnotonfire, her favourite youtuber (alongside Phil) was sat in her warm living room. Her breath hitched in her throat.

'Wh-what are you doing here?' Alexa heard herself ask.
'I'm guessing you know me then' Dan replied with a smirk as Alexa felt herself blush.
'Ye-yeah, I love your videos' She replied, stuttering nervously but mentally scolded herself for being embarrassing.

Alexa was a 19-year-old of whom was once confident and had many friends but when her dad was diagnosed with cancer she changed, now shy and quiet.

She spent most of her time in her room on the internet and it was a few months after her father had been diagnosed that she came across Dan's YouTube channel, she related a lot to his videos and found them really funny. It was Dan that helped her overcome the depression along with Kayla, her best friend. Who also showed her AmazingPhil and with their help she changed.

When her father died 5 years previously she decided to follow in his footsteps and become an English teacher.
'Thanks, it's nice to meet you.' Dan said snapping Alexa out of her thoughts.
