Alexa spent the next few days not doing much except checking her phone every 5 minutes. Her mother tried to distract her many times but failed, even when she tried to bribe her away from her phone with pizza.
Candace called Dan at 1pm a few days later, she was worried for Alex and asked Dan to distract her for the day. Immediately, both Dan and Phil agreed to take her out for a day exploring London. After thanking them both, Candace hung up and walked to Alex where she sat on the sofa in her pyjamas.
'Get up, get dressed. Dan and Phil are coming over in an hour to pick you up.''Where are we going?' Alex asked as she looked up.
'You guys are going to explore London, now hurry up! Go and get ready!' Her mother shooed her from the room and up the stairs. 'Thank god.' She muttered to herself.

Alexa got ready, she slipped on a pair of ripped jeans and a short sleeved white top, her hair was tied up in a bun with a few hair slides to keep it in place. Long black eyelashes rested on her cheekbones, and her eyes were lined with wing-tipped lines. She glossed her lips with a pale pink to finish up. She slipped her phone into her pocket, ensuring it's on vibrate, and left her room.
Walking down the stairs, she looked at the family photos. They all looked so happy and carefree, all smiles and bright eyes. Her heart pulled, she missed those days. She missed her father.
Shaking her head to clear the thoughts, her socks padded against the floor. She walked into the living room and nodded in acknowledgment to her mother, whom was sat sipping her tea. The sofa moulded around her frame as she sat down and Candace gestured towards a plate of freshly baked cookies that looked and smelt amazing. They were still warm and so the chocolate on the inside was still gooey, she felt a rush of warmth spread through her and she smiled in thanks to her mother.
They both sat in a comfortable silence with their own thoughts until Dan and Phil arrived, they knocked on the door and Candace jumped up to answer. Alex heard their muffled voices through the walls and so she got off the sofa and walked through to meet them. 'Afternoon, Alex.' Dan said, followed by Phil saying 'Hey there.' She nodded her head in acknowledgment as her mother asked if she was ready to leave. 'Are you not coming, mum?'
'No, I've got some stuff to do. Have a nice day though.' Alexa gave her a puzzled look but she brushed it off, she shooed them out the door and wished them a good day. Leaning against the door, she exhaled. She felt guilty for all the pain Alex has experienced, she knew it wasn't her fault, but it didn't stop part of her feeling guilty.
