The Long Lost Brother - Dan Howell {On Hiatus}

Chapter 6

Dan and Phil finished an entire series of anime by the end of the day, they both were under a blanket with an empty bowl of popcorn to the side.  'What's the time?' Phil asked.  Dan reached forward towards the coffee table and picked up his phone.  Turning it on, he saw he had a text from an unknown number whom he assumed was Alexa. 
'8:50.' He said.
'Do you want to do a YouNow?' Phil replied.
'Sure, why not.'  They both got up off the sofa and Dan set up whilst Phil took the blanket back to his room.  While he was gone, Dan checked the text.  It was, as he had guessed, from Lexa, and she had asked how was he and had Phil and himself made up.  Dan smiled.  He replied saying 'yes, we have.  Did you have fun with your boyfriend?'  Phil walked back over,
'Ready?' He asked.
'Yep, you can tweet out if you want.' Dan replied.  So Phil tweeted out and started up the liveshow.

The live-show was fairly uneventful, they both answered some questions from the viewers like always and Dan managed to fall off the sofa.  At around nine, they said goodbye to the viewers and ended it.  Phil looked at Dan and said 'That was fun, we haven't done a YouNow together in ages.'
'No, we haven't.  We should do them more often though.'  Replied his boyfriend with a smirk.  He turned to get his laptop and started scrolling through his twitter and tumblr.  Phil also began to check his phone but after a while he began to fall asleep with his head on Dan's shoulder.  Dan didn't notice at first, it was only when he said 'Hey, Phil.  Check this out.' and got no reply did he look to find Phil asleep beside him.  He looked so peaceful when he slept, his long eyelashes caressed his cheekbones and his black fringe fell over his eyes.  The time on Dans laptop said 10pm and so the brown haired male gently stood up, moving Phil's head from his shoulder, and gently woke him up.  He was sure anyone else would just carry them to bed, but he was Dan Howell, and he wasn't strong enough to do that. So when Phil's eyes fluttered open and saw Dan, he smiled. 'Hello sleepyhead,' Dan said 'you fell asleep. Come on, let's go to bed.'  They both walked to Phil's room and Dan kissed him on the forehead. 'Night, Phil.' He whispered after making sure he was in bed.  He walked out of his room and closed the door, he turned off the lights and went to his own room.  He changed into pyjamas, climbed into bed, and fell into a dreamless, comfortable sleep.

Alexa was also having a relaxing afternoon, the sun was out so she decided to not study but read her book in the garden.  She grabbed herself a drink of water and walked out towards her patio, she sat in the chair setting down her drink and began reading.  The book was about two sisters that lost their parents when they were young, they got adopted by their grandparents and lived a normal life until they get attacked by something supernatural and they then travel America saving other people from beast. 

Alexa was so engrossed in her book she didn't see her mother walk towards her, 'Good book?' 
Alexa looked up.  'Yes, actually. I've almost finished it.'
'Well done.  I came to see what you wanted for dinner.'  Her mother replied.  Alexa was startled, she had lost track of the time.  When she first came out it was around 1pm, it was now 5:30.
'Pizza sounds good right now?' She said questioningly.
'Sure, I'll go order one. Hawaiian?'  Candace said.
'Please, thanks Mum.'  Alexa's mother walked away back into the house and Alex picked up her book again and continued to read.  She heard her mum calling her about half an hour later so she picked up her drink and book, and walked back into the house.  She was greeted by the smell of freshly baked pizza and she immediately sat down at the table.  Her mother laughed at her child's eagerness and joined her at the table, they both ate the pizza discussing a variety of things from school to books to shopping.  

When they had finished Alexa moved into the living room and continued to read her book, determined to finish it before she went to bed that night.  Her mother came through with some hot chocolate at around seven o'clock and placed it on the coffee table in front of her.  She looked up from her book and said 'Thanks, Mum.'
'No problem, Honey.  I've got to go and get some more cake decorating stuff.  I'll be back in about half an hour.'
'Okay, be safe mum.'
Alexa checked her phone quickly and saw Dans contact, she decided to text him asking whether he had made up with Phil yet.  She sent it and turned off her phone.  She was soon engrossed once again in the demon-battling lives of the two sisters.  At around seven forty five she turned onto the last page, read it, and closed the book.  'Wow.' She said to herself, she then sat thinking about the story for a little while until she heard her mum walk back into the house. 
'I'm back!' She called closing the door behind her as walking through to the living room.  She dumped her bags on the sofa. 'Get everything you need?' Alexa asked. 
'Yes, do you want to help me decorate the cakes?'
'Sure!'  Both women picked up the bags and went through to the kitchen where the now cool cakes sat on the side.  They made up icing, placed the decorations on the table and decorated the cakes for an 18th birthday party.  They worked together messing around and laughing, making quite a mess too, but the end result was fantastic as usual.  The cakes were plain vanilla with a deep blue icing and light blue edible butterflies on the top,  Candace sent a message to the customer letting them know their order was ready, and Alexa washed her hands and went to check her phone.  She had a reply from Dan and a twitter notification about a liveshow, the text from Dan said that all was well again and so Alexa turned off her phone and grabbed her laptop, ready to watch the YouNow. 

Dan and Phil were both hosting this show, they answered questions as they normally did and Phil babbled on about random things for ages whilst Dan just sat and listened.  She noticed they were both very happy and kept glancing at each other when the other wasn't looking.  They really were adorable.  Candace came to join Alex watching the show, she was really happy to see that Dan had followed her advice.  It was worth taking the risk, she could tell, they both looked so happy together and knew she had said the right thing. 

After the YouNow they both headed to their bedrooms, Alexa was texting Kayla sitting on a seat by the window looking over the street.  The moonlight shone over the road, lighting the rooftops.  She was contemplating life, and thought about how lucky she was to have everything she did. 

Candace was also not sleeping, she was tossing and turning but couldn't sleep because one thought was nagging at her mind.  One day they will both grow up and get married, she'll be left alone.  She couldn't shake the feeling of slight loneliness that continued to make her toss and turn, she eventually fell into a restless sleep, still wondering how time went so fast.
