The fact that Alexa had lied to Kayla gnawed at her for most of the day, she knew she had done the right thing for the time being but she just couldn't forget the slight look of hurt before the look of disbelief showed on Kayla's face.  Picking up her phone, she decided to ask Kayla to come over later that day.  That way, she had time to check with Dan and her mother whether it was okay for Kayla to know about their new-found family.  Quickly, she sent the text and then called Dan.  He agreed to come over in about 20 minutes, her mother was due back from the shops around then.

-----

Dan was sat on the sofa scrolling through tumblr with Phil when Alexa called.  She had quickly, and briefly, explained her predicament and Dan understood immediately.  It was like him lying to Phil, it would gnaw at his insides until he told Phil the truth.  So he immediately agreed to meet at Lexa's house in 20.  He started to get up before Phil asked 'Where are you going?'
'Over to Lexa's, she needs help with the whole me being her brother thing.'  He replied.
'Okay, mind if I tag along?  I don't really have much else to do.'  Phil asked.
'Sure, we can leave in 5.'  He smiled and grabbed Phil's hand to help him off the sofa, not that he needed it, but Dan felt like it.  They both got on their shoes and jackets and left the apartment, breaking apart their hands as they opened the door.

Soon enough they were on the road, and arriving at the Ritton household, they only needed to knock once before a slightly flustered looking Lexa opened the door.  She ushered them inside and sat them on the sofa before Dan even got a chance to say hello.  Candace was already there and she waved her hand in greeting.

'So.  I need to ask you guys for help.' Alexa started, however Dan interrupted with; 'Whats wrong? Has something happened?'
'No everything is fine. Well, I'm sort of stuck.  Basically can I tell Kayla about you, Dan?'
'Me? You can talk about me all you like.' He smirked and Phil chuckled.
'Not helpful, Dan.' She smiled, 'Can I tell her about you being my brother?  I know when we first found out we decided to sort of keep it quiet but I don't want to lie to her again because if she does, then,  find out that I lied multiple times, she'll hate me.'
Candace then answered 'Firstly, she won't hate you.  Yes, she will probably be mad but she'll get over it.  Secondly, I don't have a problem with telling Kayla.  She's definitely trustworthy.'
'Thanks, mum.'
Candace smiled in response.
'Well if you trust her, I do too.  And I'm sure Phil does.'  Dan said, Phil then nodded in agreement.
'Okay, great, thanks.' Alexa smiled, she checked her phone for the time and quickly said goodbye before going to her room to change.

'Is it just me or was she a little-' Dan said after Alexa had left the room.
'Flustered?' Candace said.
'Yes, flustered is what I'd say.' Phil replied.
'Im sorry, mum, I don't think you've properly met Phil before.  Phil, Candace.  Mum, Phil.' Dan said after a moment.
'Nice to meet you, Phil.'
'You too, Candace.'

Alexa quickly got changed and ready.  Kayla had replied agreeing to come over in about 10 minutes, she checked Instagram and then walked downstairs when she heard a knock at the door.

The warmth of the summer sun flowed through her body as Alexa opened the door.  She smelt the leaves of trees and the blossoming flowers, realising how just much she had missed summer.

Kayla walked in and pulled Alex into a hug, Alex's body spray overwhelmed her in a good way, and she was washed with a sense of security and safety around her.  They pulled apart after a moment and Alexa shut the door, she then guided her best friend to her living room.  They walked in and Kayla stopped on the spot causing Alexa to walk into her.
'What-Alex? Hello Dan, hello Phil. Alex, what's going on?' She stuttered.  Her eyes were flicking between everyone in the the room.
'Well it's a long story, but in short, Dan is my brother.'
'Hello, Kayla,' Dan and Phil both said, Alexa almost laughed at the sight of her best friend, her eyes were wide and her mouth slightly parted.  She was gripping Alex's hand with such a force that if she wasn't so entertained with the scene in front of her, she would be in pain.
'Your brother?' Kayla asked
'My brother.' Alex confirmed
'Shes my sister.' Dan interrupted
'And they're both my kids.' Candace continued
'And I'm here for moral support.' Phil said, finishing the conversation.

There was silence as everyone waited to see Kayla's reaction to everything happening, her brain could almost be heard whirring as she processed it all.  Finally saying: 'Well, um, that's interesting.  But I can't believe you didn't tell me Alex.  I thought we told each other everything! And I mean, suddenly having a celebrity brother!  Where's the trust?' She stared at Alex for an answer but she couldn't think of one on the spot.  Kayla then walked out the room and out the door, Alexa ran after her but Kayla was out the door before she could catch up.  Her eyes glistened over with tears but she wiped them away, she'd come around, wouldn't she?

In the living room, Dan and Phil were talking in hushed voices on whether Alexa was alright and if one of them should check on her.  Candace was staring at the space where the girls had left the room and let out a sigh before standing to go find Alex.  However, she didn't even make it out the room before Alexa was back.  'I'm sorry guys; I didn't know she would react like that.'
'Its okay Lexa,' Dan said, 'at least she knows the truth, that's better than not knowing.  She'll come around.'  He looked at Phil and they shared a look, smiling at each other.  Alexa was then pulled into a hug by her mother and she let her tears fall.

-----

Dan and Phil left after finishing their drinks, they waved goodbye and have Lexa a hug each.  She watched them drive down the street before she shut the door and went to her room.  Whispering 'Please Kayla, call me.', she picked up her phone and checked for new messages.  Nothing.  Pacing her room, she tried a number of times to reach Kayla.  If by calling, it went to voicemail and if by text, there was no reply.  Eventually, she gave up and collapsed on her bed.  'I'm sorry Kayla.' To the ceiling she whispered.
