Chapter 15~ Trap~ Lindsay
I kept my eyes on the door for a while after Jane left. It wasn't until a pissed off looking Jace sat on the bed that I looked away from it.
"Where is she going?" He growled.
"On a date with Bryson." I said quietly. He shut his eyes, trying to keep his composure.
"That little fucking whore is on a date with another guy when she's pregnant with Ryder's baby?" I recoiled, taking a step away from him.
"Jace. . . don't. . ."
"You stay out of it, Linds. I know for a fact that any logical woman wouldn't be fucking around with another guy when they are pregnant with someone elses baby. She just loves leading Ryder on." I sat on the bed beside him, running my hand up his tense arm.
"Just let her be, Jace. What's between her and Ryder isn't our business." He took my hand and laid it against his cheek, letting out a shaky sigh.
"I know, Lindsay. I. . . I just care about both of them and don't want to see either of them hurt." I was about to reply when my phone went off. I grabbed it to find a text from Ryder.
"Who is it? It better not be Don. . ."
"It's Ryder. His car got jacked, he wants us to come pick him up." I looked up at Jace in confusion. He stared down at me skeptically, taking the phone from me.
"Why would he text you? It's his number." He was shaking his head to himself, trying to understand what was going on.
"So what do we do?" I asked him. He stood up, pulling me up with him.
"I guess we go pick him up."
****
"Jace." I whispered, staring at the dark alley in front of us.
"I know. We drove right into a trap." He mumbled, letting his head fall against the wheel.
"M. . . maybe we didn't. Maybe Ryder really is. . ." He looked up, giving me a murderous glare.
"Please don't try to make things up. It'll only make things worse." I huffed and turned to look out the window. I could vaguely make out a figure walking toward us.
"Ryder. . ." I started to say, reaching for his hand.
"Lindsay, I told you to stop. . ."
"There's someone coming." I cut him off, my eyes wide as I made sure the door was locked. Jace cussed under his breath and grabbed something from the back seat. Something in between a squeak and a gasp left my mouth once I saw what it was.
"I. . . there's Ryder!" The streetlights had flickered on and I could make out the figure dragging Ryder behind him.
"Shit." Jace muttered. He unlocked the doors, causing me to jump and grab his arm.
"Jace, don't be stupid." I pleaded. He took my face in his hand and kissed me passionately. Almost as if it was a goodbye.
"I have to go, Lindsay. He's my best friend, my brother. We're family, we're loyal. Now I need you to do something for me." He ordered, then slowly placed a gun in my hands.
"No! Jace I can't! I. . . I. . ." He closed my fingers around the cold gun, staring at me intensely.
"If they try to come after you, if something happens to Ryder and me, you need to save yourself. And if that means killing the bastards then you need to do it. Do you understand?" I nodded, blinking quickly to keep myself from crying.
"Promise me you'll pull the trigger if that happens." I laid my head against his chest.
"I promise, Jace." I whimpered. He inhaled, gently pushing me away.
"Don't cry. Don't let them know what they are doing is effecting you. If you find an opening you start the car and the fuck out of here." I nodded again, letting my hand find his.
"Please be careful, Jace." He opened the door with his other hand.
"I'll try." He responded quietly before climbing out the car, slamming the door shut behind him. I locked the doors and stared out my window.
"Drop the gun, Coulter!" A man I didn't recognize said, his gaze on the gun in Jace's hand.
"Okay!" He yelled back, setting the gun on the ground. It was only for a fraction of a second that Jace's eyes drifted to me in the car, but the man saw it and followed Jace to see what he was looking at.
"You brought your little bitch with you? I would have thought you would have known better. Get her out, boys." The man growled. I unbuckled my seat belt and moved away from the window, gripping the gun in my hand.
"Leave her out of it! She. . ."
"She what? She's your girlfriend, and obviously your weakness. This is going to be fun." I heard the glass shatter behind me before I felt it hit my back. I let out a cry as I pulled a piece from my arm.
"Come here, sweetheart." Donnie said, a sick grin on his face. He reached in and dragged me out of the broken window. I could feel the glass cutting into my back and legs.
"Jace!" I cried, struggling in Donnie's grip. Jace growled and picked the gun back up off the ground. The man and a few other people that had showed up pointed their guns at Jace.
"She smells so good." Donnie said, loud enough for Jace to hear. I felt his tongue slide up my neck.
"Good enough to eat." He hissed even louder. Jace launched himself forward but was caught by one of the guys, the guy pointed a gun to Jace's head. I took a deep breath, shutting my eyes. I relaxed against Donnie, and after a minute could hear Kevin's voice echoing in my head.
"You're such a tease." I could feel a smile tugging at my lips, an idea starting to go through my head.
"Donnie." I moaned, tilting my head back so I could look up at him. He looked down, surprised at the tone in my voice.
"What?" I licked my lips at his words, squirming a little.
"Put the gun down and I'll show you how good I taste." I saw it in his eyes the minute the words left my mouth. Lust.
"Donnie! What the fuck is going on over there?" The man growled. I looked down to find that Donnie was about to drop the gun. I threw my head back again, biting my lip and giving him a clear view of my cleavage.
"Please, Donnie." I begged. I heard the gun drop to the ground and I took my chance. I slammed my elbow into his groin and moved away, pointing my gun at him.
"You stupid bitch!" He said through his teeth. I smirked at him, my hands shaking as I pointed the gun directly at his head.
"Do it! Shoot him!" Jace screamed, earning him a punch in the face by the strange man. I shut my eyes, letting my hand fall back to my side.
"I can't, Jace. I'm not. . ." It happened so quick I barely saw it. Donnie grabbed his gun back off the pavement and shot Jace. He collapsed to the ground, holding his stomach. I brought my gun back up and shot Donnie more times then I could count. I dropped the gun in horror once I saw what I had done.
"N. . . no! I. . . I'm sorry." I whimpered, backing away from Donnie. Jace looked at me, his beautiful eyes dilated as they narrowed at me.
"Run, Lindsay. G. . ." Someone grabbed me from behind, a cloth in their hand over my mouth.
"Say goodbye to your boyfriend, sweetheart." A voice growled in my ear before everything went black.
