Eliza's POV
"Dear General Washington,
If it is not too much trouble, I would really appreciate it if you sent my husband home. I am with child and I.... "Ha no. I crumpled up the piece of paper and threw it behind me. I don't want the General to tell Alexander that I'm pregnant but I need a way to get him home. I'll try again.
"Dear General Washington,
If it is not too much trouble, I would really appreciate it if you sent my husband home, there is a..." Think Eliza, think. Oh, I think I have an idea. "There is a family emergency at home and I need him to come as soon as possible." There we go. "Thank you for understanding, Eliza Hamilton." I put the pen back on Alexander's desk and sent out the letter. Oh, I hope he gets this soon. One Month Later
"Eliza?" I heard a familiar voice call out.
"Alexander!" I carefully ran outside. He picked me up and spun me around."Be careful, you might hurt the baby!" I blurted out.
"The what?" His eyes got wide as he put me down.
"That was definitely not the way you were supposed to find out." I whispered.
"How long have you known?" He asked me quietly.
"A month or so."
"Eliza, you should have told me." He said pacing his hand on my stomach.
" I wrote to the General a month ago. I begged him to send you home."
"You should have told me." He looked deep into my eyes.
"I'm not sorry." Alexander grabbed my hand and we took a walk.
"Eliza, I promise you that I will be the best father I can possibly be." Alexander told me as we walked down a dirt path. I stopped walking and looked deep into his eyes.
"I know you will be." I smiled. He promised that if he goes back to war, he would do his best to stay alive for the both of us and the baby. And that would be enough.
