Pauleen arrived at Maine's house early. She had dinner with Maine's family and prepared for the party there. She had been a regular visitor Maine's house since the girls were in high school so Yaya Maring and the rest of the Maine's family treated her like family as well.

"Inday Pau, gusto mo pa juice?" Yaya Maring asked as she poured juice for the family.

"Yes, please. Salamat." Pauleen replied.

O, hija. How's your Mom?" Maine's mom asked Pauleen.

"She's okay, Tita. She and my dad just came from the States."

"Ah, yeah. Maine told us. They visited your sister in San Francisco, right?"

"Yes po. I have a new nephew po!" Pauleen proudly announced. "

"Congratulations, iha! Are you visiting her also?" Dad Teddy asked.

"No pa po. Maybe next year na, on RG's first birthday."

"RG?"

"Yes po. That's his nickname. He was named after his Lolo Ricardo and Lola Gloria, his dad's side. His real name is Richard Gregory."

"Ahh..."

"Hu-o dad, ka-cute bala sa iya. Mestizo kag taas ilong! Kaputi!"  (He's so cute! He's mestizo and has a sharp nose! He's fair!) Maine shared.

"Here po." Pauleen handed them her phone which had a picture of her newborn nephew.

"Ay kagwapo gid! He looks very handsome, iha!" Mom Mary Anne exclaimed as she took the phone from Pauleen and shared the photo with her husband.

"So, you're going to a party kuno, Maine told us." Dad Teddy said as Mom Mary Anne returned Pauleen's phone.

"Yes po. My college friend and org mate is having a party tonight at the Fort. My driver will drive for us po. Ruby will follow nalang po."

"Ahh good...good..." Dad Teddy said.

"Ikaw ha, Inday, don't stay out too late. Masimba pa bala kita tomorrow. And ma-lunch ta kay Lola mo."  (We're going to church tomorrow and have lunch at your Lola's place). Mom Mary Anne reminded.

"Yes, Mom." Maine answered.

"O Pau, tapos ka na? Dun na tayo sa room ko. May bago akong lippy na gusto kong ipakita sa yo..."

"Ah...oo....excuse me po, Tita, Tito. Thank you po for dinner." Pauleen excused herself from the table and stood up with Maine.

"You're welcome, iha." Mom Mary Anne acknowledged Pauleen.

The two girls left the dining room for Maine's room. Pauleen sat on the beanbag beside Maine's bed while Maine went to the dresser to get the lipstick tube she wanted Pauleen to check out.

"Nice shade!" Pauleen exclaimed as she stood up, inspecting the lipstick. She stood up and both girls went to the dresser. Pauleen applied some lipstick on her lips and checked herself in the mirror. "But it looks better on you ata..." she said as she put the lipstick tube beside Maine's lips.

"Take a shower na so we can get ready for the party...." Maine said as she waved a piece of tissue at Pauleen for the latter to wipe her lips with.

Pauleen turned away from the dresser and started moving towards the bathroom; "Hmmm...ikaw ha....parang mas excited ka pa kesa sa akin para sa party...." she teased Maine.

"Ehhh....hihihi" Maine giggled as she threw Pauleen a towel.

"Uuuyyy...."

"Malay mo....andun yung Rj.....the guy we saw with your friend, what's his name?"

"Steven"

"Ayun, Steven..."

"So, yung Rj ang naalala mo pero si Steven di mo maalala when he was the one who actually talked to us..."

"Ah basta! Ligo ka na!" Maine said as she playfully pushed Pauleen to the bathroom.
