Arielle

I know what you're probably thinking. How can you be so cruel to leave him to be late for school without even leaving a note or breakfast? At least he doesn't have to explain what happened to my aunt. Not like she actually cares for me or anything. She's always so busy and every time I try to talk to her about the bullying, she says it's all for fun and it'll go away. Well I call bullsh*t.

I do feel kind of bad for him though. I left him alone. Hopefully, he'll be okay. Right?

You better hope so.

Another wonderful day where everybody judges you from the outside. Again, #Sarcasm.

Time for classes that I hate. "Here goes nothing."

***

Let's just say classes before break were uneventful. Only thing was that Shane came in 15 minutes late with a mustache of strawberry milkshake on his upper lip. If I told you I didn't find that cute, it would be a lie. Don't tell him I said that though.

The one place I loved more than anything as a child was school. Living in my hometown was amazing until I messed up big time. Imagine going from people waving at you everywhere you go to everybody ignoring the second you pass by. Let me tell you now, it is excruciatingly humiliating.

Everybody became afraid to be around me. I had a friend once upon a time. He joined the school in making me hate myself worse. Gosh, my worst enemy is my memory. Where's Shane when you need the idiot?

"Hey Angel!"

Speaking of the devil.

"Don't call me Angel. It's Arielle," I replied, irritated to the bone. Nobody calls Angel unless they are close to me.

"Sorry... But, what about yesterday?" He started fidgeting with his watch while asking this question.

"Look, I'm sorry. I cut you, made you sleep over and then left you to wake up late with no breakfast," I said and stared at the table to avoid eye contact.

"First, I'd sleep over if I had to to make sure you were okay no matter what so there's no need to be sorry. Second, have you eaten breakfast?"

I eyed him suspiciously. "No, why?"

A look of satisfaction plastered his face when I answered so he brought out a chocolate milkshake and a grilled cheese sandwich from his backpack.

"Good. Eat up."

"No. I don't feel like it. Sorry to waste your money but I suggest you give to someone like,'' I looked around and searched for someone else, ''her. I heard you two are pretty close. You even grew up together. She'd love the food," I point at Lucy Anders.

If I say I didn't feel jealous that they were closer, that would be another lie. I want that type of friendship but I apparently don't deserve that in this unfair world.

"We are just friends. Nothing more. We did have a thing but that ended a long time ago," he muttered through clenched teeth, obviously finding the topic irritating. Ouch, I must have hit a nerve.

Time for a topic change. What to talk about... Before I could come up with anything, he had already brightened up and switched the topic.

"Please eat, Angel. You need food. You can't live like this. Do it for you, not me. Pretty please?" The look on his face was too cute to say no. It was also irritating because it was that cute. Ugh, this sweetness is going to give me diabetes.

"Ugh... I'm only doing this because you asked so nicely and I'd hate to make you waste money."

The first bite into that sandwich sent me to the moon and back because I was that hungry and the sandwich was that good. I made a very unattractive moan after the first bite and and continued eating it up until the last crumb. I looked up to see Shane staring at me again with a small smile playing at his lips.
