It's weird to think that my story is something that is longed to be heard like this. For those who don't know, I am the Legendary Trainer. My story is still unfolding, but this is my story from my adventures in the Johto Region of this world filled with Pokémon. It was the day after I beat the Indigo League and became the Champion of the Kanto Region; it was also my 11th birthday. My party was held back home in Pallet Town and everyone who knew and cared about me was there. After I blew out my candles, my girlfriend, and traveling companion, Ellie kissed me and asked, "What did you wish for?"
She had such a cute look on her face; I couldn't stop from telling her. "I wished that the three of us would make it safely through Johto when we get there." I said after putting an arm around Ellie and Leaf's shoulders. Leaf still seemed upset with me for what happened at the League. For those who don't know or remember, I became the Champion before Leaf, but she faced the Champion I beat because I said that Champion wasn't my job. "Leaf, could you please not look at me like I killed your pet?" I asked. "I'm just upset that you took that chance for me to beat you like I wanted to." Leaf said pouting. Ellie hugs her like the good friend that she is to Leaf.
After the party, Leaf, Ellie, and I go to Prof. Oak's lab to talk with him before we go. "I have arranged for Prof. Elm to give you three the chance of getting a starter Pokémon native to the Johto Region." Prof. Oak said. We all lit up like a Charmander's tail. We got some upgrades to our armors that made it so that we might not need to go to a Pokémon Center. "Professor, thank you for all of this." I say as I hug him. He hugs me back and says, "Prof. Elm will help a lot with your secret as well. All the Professors of other regions know who you are, but will keep it a secret until you're ready." I nodded and we headed outside where Lugia was waiting for us to fly us to Johto.
What happened next can only be explained by the argument that ensued afterwards. "William, why did you use Pidgeot to catch us and crash with us instead of using your armor?" Leaf demanded as she brushed herself off. "Well excuse me for thinking of an idea to save our lives while you were clinging to Ellie for dear life and screaming your head off." I shouted angrily. Ellie just watched as we fought. Ellie finally snapped at us. "That's enough! We're all-alive and have zero broken bones. That's all that matters. Let's just get to Prof. Elm's lab so we can get our bearings." "How did Lugia even crash anyhow?" Leaf asked. "There was some kind of radio signal I felt when Lugia did. I don't know where it came from." I said.
"Where are we anyways?" Leaf asked. I looked around and recognized a cave entrance. "We're on Route 31 near Violet City where the first Gym is. That's the Dark Cave entrance. Or at least one out of the three of them. We need to head to Cherrygrove City to get towards the Prof's lab in New Bark Town." I said pointing towards Route 30. We started walking to Cherrygrove and found someone looking for us. The girl had long brown hair tied into two ponytails on either side of her head. "William, Leaf and Ellie?" The girl asked. Her voice was not as cutely toned as Ellie's, nor was it as serious as Leaf's. This girl sounded sort of like the middle ground when comparing Leaf and Ellie's voices. "Yes. Who's asking?" I answered. "My name is Lyra. I work with Prof. Elm to complete the Pokedex. We were getting worried when you all didn't show up when we were told you would be arriving at the lab." "We can explain it to Prof. Elm when we get back to the lab." I said. Lyra started leading us to New Bark Town. Leaf didn't like Lyra from the beginning from the way she kept looking at her. I wasn't sure at the time, but it seemed like Leaf was jealous or thinking that Lyra would become another "romantic rival" like she considered Ellie to be.
When we finally got to New Bark Town, it was already dark outside. We met with the Professor and he said he'd let us choose the starter we wanted. "Ellie, you go first." I said. She looked at me astonished at this. Leaf looked slightly annoyed. "You're the only one out of the three of us who doesn't have a starter Pokémon from any region. You should be the one to choose first." I said explaining my reasoning. Ellie smiled and kissed my cheek. Leaf looked like she understood why I said it. Professor Elm brought all of the starters out of their Poke balls so Ellie could choose. "Leaf, would you mind if I took this one?" Ellie asked pointing to Chikorita. "Why are you asking me?" Leaf asked slightly confused. "I didn't know if you wanted it since it has a big leaf on its head and I thought you'd automatically want the grass type starter cause of that." Ellie said innocently. Leaf blushed bright red as I fell on the floor laughing so hard. Prof. Elm had to stop himself from laughing with me. Leaf got even angrier while we were laughing.
"Just take it. It wasn't the one I would've chosen anyways." Leaf said trying to remain calm. Prof. Elm quickly handed Ellie Chikorita's Poke ball. Leaf slammed her fist into my stomach to say for me to go next. After I got some air back into my lungs from the attack, I got up and chose the Totodile. "Why that Pokémon?" Ellie asked. "I've studied some of the starters of other regions over the years. This little guy's fully evolved form has always been my favorite of the three." I said as I got the Poke ball from Prof. Elm. Totodile went to bite my arm, but I activated my gauntlet before he could bite into my arm. "Nice to meet you boss!" Totodile exclaimed as he bit into the gauntlet. Totodile's voice was muffled due to him biting, but he had a voice that reminded me of a kid with fiery hair and a turbo charged backpack. "Nice to meet you too, but I'm not your boss." I said.
Leaf looked at the Cyndaquil that was left. "You know, Typhlosion is one of the most terrifying Pokémon in the Johto Region." I said while trying to get Totodile off of me. Leaf took the Poke ball and we all were treated to the guest rooms in Prof. Elm's home. "Thank you so much Professor." I said. "It's no problem at all. But, can you tell me why you three were late?" Prof. Elm asked. "Lugia had gotten wind of a radio signal that threw it off its game and caused it to return to its home without warning. We crashed on Route 31 near Dark Cave. I caught wind of the signal too, but didn't realize what it would do to Lugia until after we were falling." I said. "Well, you all get some rest and get ready for your journey. I assume you'll be heading out first thing?" Prof. Elm asked as if he could read my mind. "Yes. We will be heading out the first chance we get." I said.
