Chapter 15

Kimberley's POV:

I wake up slowly, my hands gripping soft, naked flesh. Cheryl smiles, her eyes

bright as her lips stretch into the dimpled grin I had fallen in love with. I yawn

quietly, stretching my stiff body out. She kisses me softly on the nose, making me

giggle gently.

"Good morning babe." I croak, my voice hoarse. Cheryl strokes my hair, running her

fingers tenderly through the golden strands.

"It's the first morning in our new home...and our new bed." She murmurs, a dreamy

smile on her lips.

"I think we broke in the bed last night...and the sofa...and the dining table.."

She says, chuckling softly.

Cheryl lays sprawled out on the sofa, her eyes closed lightly. I can't help but

smile at the soft snores coming from her lips. I walk over to her, straddling her

hips in a fluid movement.

"Cheryl. Baby, you need to wake up." I say, kissing her neck. She stirs, her eyes

fluttering open. She smiles up at me sleepily, yawning softly.

"What time is it babe?" She asks, slurring her words as she desperately tries to

hold back another yawn. I smile at her cuteness. I slowly put a hand to her cheek,

caressing the tanned skin.

"It's about six o'clock hun, the girls will be here in an hour." I whisper, staring

intently into her sleep laden eyes. She nods, murmuring a quiet response before

leaning up to claim my lips.

"Mmmm...what's another 10 minutes?" I say, to which she raises an eyebrow. I

giggle.

"Okay! Okay! Make that 20!"

***

"This is amazing Kimba!" Nadine smiles, taking another bite of the chicken in front

of her. I smile as the others mumble in agreement, apart from Sarah, who just nods

her approval, cheeks stuffed with food, looking so comical I splutter helplessly

with laughter. Cheryl snorts next to me, coughing politely in an attempt to cover

it. Nicola sniggers, desperately trying to distract herself. Nadine stays composed,

although we can all see the smile spreading over her lips. I sip my wine slowly,

the alcohol running straight to me head.

***

I lean drunkenly against Cheryl, giggling as we stagger into our bedroom. I

collapse on the bed, spreading out on the soft, cream sheets. Cheryl climbs on next

to me, snuggling into my side.

"Kimberley, where do you see us in 5 years?" Cheryl asks, her voice gentle. I look

down into her eyes, raising an eyebrow.

"In 5 years, we will be exactly the same as we are now...We might be married, we

might not be...but we'll be together..That's a promise." I say seriously, feeling

surprisingly sober. She smiles at me.

"You want to marry me?" She asks, flashing me a gorgeous dimpled grin. I nod

softly, closing my eyes.

"I love you Kimberley." Is the last thing I hear as I drift into an easy sleep.

Chapter 16

Cheryl's POV:

3 Months Later

“Okay girls! Lots of energy! It's the last night of the tour...lets make it the best night ever!” Hillary yells, giving us all a quick hug. She pauses when she reaches me. I smile weakly, desperately trying to hide my nerves.

“Are you ready Cheryl?” She asks, placing a firm hand on my shoulder. I nod fiercely, determined to show her I was ready. She smiles, patting me on the back gently.

“Good Luck!”

It was nearing the end of the show, the lights were flashing and the crowd were cheering and singing along with us.

“Okay London! As a special for treat for you guys, we've decided to add a little Beyoncé to the set list!” The crowd went wild as Sarah finished talking, and the opening chords of 'Halo' blasted from the speakers. We all start to sway to the music as Nadine begins to sing.

“Remember those walls I built? Well baby they're tumbling down..And they didn't even put up a fight..They didn't even make a sound.” Kimberley smiles over at me, her eyes shining bright with love. I don't register the rest of the words, its only when the chorus begins that I realise what is about to happen. The lights go out suddenly, causing a few screams to echo around the arena. The band keeps playing as I stagger blindly, almost drunkenly, over to Kimberley. The words start fall from my lips with ease.

“Everywhere I'm lookin' now, I'm surrounded by your embrace. Baby I can see your halo, you know you're my saving grace. You're everything I need and more, it's written all over your face. Baby I can feel your halo, pray it won't fade away.” I pull the small black box from my pocket, stroking the velvet lid tenderly with my fingertips. I drop to one knee as the lights come on, eliciting gasps from the crowd.

“Kimberley..” I say softly, watching as she turns, her face frozen in shock.

“Kimba...I have loved you from the first moment I lay eyes on you....And I was so scared of what I was feeling I did nothing about it. But I couldn't hide it forever, I knew you would notice...you can read me like a book...If I had known that you loved me as well, I wouldn't have waited so long to tell you. You've always been more than my best friend, you're my soul mate, my inspiration, my everything. I love you so much baby, and I will never let anyone or anything hurt you....I'll do everything I can to make you happy...” I say tenderly, staring deep into her eyes that are now filling with, what I hope are, happy tears.

“Kimberley Jane Walsh, would you do the honour of...marrying me?”
