Albus' POV

It was a mid-September and the air was crisp and slightly warm. I woke up to sunlight streaming in through the windows. It made it fresher in here, and I liked that. I found Tom (a.k.a. Thomas) and we headed down breakfast.

When we got to the Great Hall, I was still breath-taken at the site of the magnificent Hall. I'd been here for 5 whole years now, but I still can't get over beauty of a Hall?! I ate as much I could manage and then Professor McGonagall tapped her goblet for silence.

"Good morning, students, I hope you slept well, because today is a very special day. I am proud to announce," she looked ecstatic, but was trying to keep a straight face and doing am impossibly bad job. "This year, Hogwarts will be hosting the legendary Triwizard Tournament!" she concluded, with a massive grin on her face with absolutely no attempt to even hide it. But the hall was so noisy, it was impossible to even hear Tom, and he was right next to me!

"But," she continued loudly, somehow getting over the noisy chatter of the hall, "there are some strict rules in place, due to the last Tournament. Only students that are of age are allowed to enter their name. If you are underage, yet still with to enter, you must have both of your parents sign a form." A loud groan echoed around the room, from everyone. I guess they were right though, I really wanted to enter myself. "To ensure security, only I can enter Hogwarts students and-" but she was cut off by a boy shouting.

"What about the other schools?"

"Good point, but I would prefer it if you could wait till I asked for questions, Mr Finnigan," she added. I turned around and looked at my friend. I must have had a horrified expression on my face, because he began to laugh and told me she didn't mind.

"The other schools will be arriving this evening, just before dinner. We will have a chance to see them at dinner. Off you go, have fun. And if you would like a form for your parents to sign, then there is a stack of them outside my office."

I grabbed Tom by his arm and dragged him over to Professor McGonagall's office, where I swept a form off the pile. "You're gonna try get your parents to sign?" asked Tom.

"Yeah, and my dad will have the best judgement, because he knows exactly what the tasks are like."

"I guess..." he said, trailing off.

"Hey you should get your parents to let you enter too!"

"Yeah!" he grabbed a form too; a grin plastered across his face, but I could tell that it was fake. Wonder what was bothering him.

"Come on, let's go send them off," I said dragging him off again.

"Will you ever stop doing that?"

"Doing what?" I asked 'innocently'.

"You know what."

"We're here," I said changing the subject. I saw Tom shake his head. I wrote a note explaining what was happening and sent it off with the form.

Me and Tom spent the day wandering around the castle and talking about the tournament, and basically just doing nothing. We'd done about half an hour of homework when we were disturbed by a seventh year telling us that the Beauxbaton students were to be arriving in less than 5 minutes. We closed our ink bottles and hurried down.

A large crowd had already formed and many people were watching the sky intently. Well, they were using a giant carriage with massive flying horses. Wow, I can make that sound so casual! I managed to make my way through to the front and found myself next to Rose. But she was too busy watching the sky to notice, I noticed her eyes widen, and followed her gaze and immediately realised her surprise. The carriage was flying through the sky; it looked magnificent, and huge! It landed in front of us, not very far either.
