Albus hurried towards Proffessor McGonagall's office. Quidditch practice had finished at 7, which was the same time that the Meeting started. He'd had to get changed incredibly quickly and run halfway across the school, and that was a long way, considering how big Hogwarts actually was.
By the time he got there, he was ten minutes late. He caught his breath and pushed open the door. There were two empty seats - he wasn't the last one there.
He sat down next to Louis and looked around. Shruti was here and so was McGonagall, so who was missing? A few seconds later, the door opened and Proffessor Flitwick stumbled in.
'Sorry, some first year-, can't even-, just blew it up-, the whole-,' he muttered to himself.
Once Flitwick had seated himself, Professor McGonagall, who was standing up, said 'Right then. As you know the third task is coming up. You probably have no idea what it is, other than the rumours, saying that it's similar to the previous task, which is true. It most certainly is like the previous third task, so I'm sure you will know plenty about it. Including it's unexpected ending.
'We have had to make the Task different of course, and Professor Flitwick will show you the plan of how the Task will work.'
The champions expected Professor Flitwick to pull out a roll of parchment, or have some magical plans appear in front of them. However, he was getting up and walking towards the door. He opened the door and turned around. The end of his beard was smoking ever so slightly.
'Come on then!' he said, and the champions quickly stood up and hurried to the door.

They arrived on the border of the Forbidden Forest. 'So your task is going to start inside the Forest,' began Flitwick. 'You'll be at the very edge of Hogwarts, we can't go in right now, because the Forest is still being Sweeped.
'There'll be three Tracks, which once you're in you can't get out of - until you reach the finish, of course. You'll have to deal with the regular magical creatures from the Forest, and the Track is to continue all around the border of Hogwarts. So there will be plenty to look forward to.
'As the Track continues all around Hogwarts, it's going to be quite long. About 20 miles. So you may need to try and find something to eat along the way, to keep your energy up.
'Just for this evening I have been allowed to apparate around Hogwarts so that I can show you the important parts of the Tracks. So the next place...' he trailed off and held out his arms so that we could hold on.
Shruti, who had Apparated before, had managed to prepare herself for the sickening sensation, however Louis and Albus hadn't realised how bad it would be. As soon as they landed, Louis threw up, making a mess on Professor Flitwick's shoes.
'First the first years and now this,' he muttered to himself, and used a charm to clean off his shoes.
As they looked around, they saw that they were on the edge of a cliff. The Cliff, Albus realised.
There were two cliffs, there used to be a bridge across it, but it had been destroyed in the Battle of Hogwarts. Part of the bridge still there on the Hogwarts side, but on the side they were on, there was a sheer drop, and some way away there was the lake.
'So the border goes along this cliff, and all of you will have to fall down the cliff safely,' said Flitwick, 'at some point.'
'What if we get so stuck that we can't and we think we're going to die?' asked Louis.
'Send up red sparks, someone will get you and you'll be disqualified.'
'Oh.'
The Champions and Professor Flitwick apparated around to three more places: the bottom of the cliff, the edge of the lake and some field Albus had never known was there.

Albus trudged back to the Gryffindor Tower and tried to find something comfy to sit on - something that wasn't already taken by someone else. Quidditch practice and apparating around Hogwarts did that to a person. How people did that on a daily basis, Albus couldn't understand. There were quite a few people in the Common Room, but not as many as there normally would have been.
The fire next to him made him uncomfortably warm, considering that he was worrying about the third task. How was he meant to learn so many things in such a short amount of time? It was near impossible! And he didn't have his Master to guide him. In a strange kind of way, Albus missed his Master. The Master had made him do some bad things, but Albus found it difficult to remember them. He could vaguely remember messing up a dorm, or being in the Beauxbaton place.
Albus knew that he had to start preparing like a normal person soon though. Tomorrow he told himself.
