The moans below grew louder and louder but my mind was not where it should be, Danny's lips pressed against mine made my head spin but I did nothing about it. I sat there not giving a care in the world when today could be the day I die.
"Ah-hmmm"
The noise scared me, I forced myself to pull back, it was Sabrina and she just saw the whole thing. The thought of having to see that made me embarrassed and my cheeks flushed. Sabrina just sat there looking at me with big goo-goo eyes which made me rethink everything.
"Um... you didn't see anything," I said quickly turning away and covering my face.
"Uh-huh, keep telling yourself that, no that you are done, can we think of a way out of this?"
"Bridget, do you have one of those pipe-bombs that you used before?" asked Danny.
"No, I only had one."
"Well then I got nothing."
"I might have something." Said Sabrina rubbing her chin with one hand. "Has anyone tried fire? the tiles on this roof are flammable and there's plenty on them to use. We can burn them and experiment on what happens, if they repel then we can flee."
"That is actually a good plan, I'm down." Said Danny grabbing the machete and putting the blade under one tile and levering it up. The tile popped out, I grabbed my small lighter I carry around in my backpack and lit the tile ablaze. Danny went to the edge of the roof and dropped the tile into the horde. The zombies quickly scattered away from the lit tile. Success.
We began plucking off tiles one after another and setting them ablaze and tossing them down into the horde making a path for us to escape. We made the pathway nice and wide. We then set the whole house on fire to clear all the zombies. We quickly got down from the house before we ourselves got burned to death and killed the remaining zombies that did not flee. We ran as fast as we could away from the house, we knew that the zombies would be back any moment.
We ran and ran off into the woods nearby to be hidden from any wondering zombies. My lungs were about to burst. We ran until I finally stopped to catch my breath, I looked behind me to see if anything was following us and to my relief no one was behind us. "We have to keep going, the store is very close." said Sabrina out of breath herself. My hopes grew and I straightened my backpack to fit snuggly on my back and began walking behind Sabrina.
I could my shoes slightly falling off my feet after every other step, I looked behind me and saw Danny walking a little to close for comfort. Danny was looking down at our feet and didn't seem to notice me looking at him. I couldn't see any emotion of his face, my eyes guided themselves down to his lips, I instantly the moment we had on the roof. My cheeks flushed that I could feel the heat radiating off them. I quickly turned my head, trying to forget what had happened but my mind wouldn't let it go.
Get over it! I screamed in my head but every second flashed in my head. Did I have feelings for Danny? No, it can't be, I must be crazy. Danny is a complete dumbass and I wouldn't get caught up in something like that. I couldn't handle it if my emotions took over my body like they did on the roof.
"Well, There it is." Said Sabrina, I had forgotten that she was there, I felt guilty for a moment but them quickly got over it and lifted my head. The "store" Sabrina talked about was not a store at all, it looked like a mall, but it was all one store. The large building took up most of my sight, I had to stop and look up to see all of it.
"Come on Bridget, lets go!"
