Chapter 1: It could have been worse

It was a regular winter day, a small girl walking in the snow to get to the place she calls school but was probably gonna be hell for a few days or maybe even months.
Just yesterday her boyfriend broke up with her through FaceTime.
     She felt horrible having to see him the next day, she was just glad they didn't have any classes together anymore otherwise things would be really awkward. Annabelle Rocasta was her name. She was 15, a regular girl who attended high school. Her grades were fine and she has a good amount of friends. She has black hair and kind eyes but never saw herself as pretty. She always had these insecurities that would bother her and blames them for ending her relationship with her 3 week boyfriend, Glenn yaleen.
     She really wished it lasted longer then it did but she knew it was for the best.
"Come on Annabelle! You can get over this, it's just a silly break up suck it up before you get late to class." I said to myself as I spirited up the stairs with only 5 minutes till class began. I knew I probably looked stupid because I woke up late this morning, staying up watching Anime most of the night was not a good idea. I didn't have time to put on my makeup and my hair was up in a messy bun, this was a great way to show your now ex boyfriend how much he's not missing.
     I started to feel a bit sad saying that he was my ex now but it was true. To just my luck the bell rang and my geography teacher started to close the classroom door, I yelled wait and made it just on time. When I walked in the whole class was staring at me like there was something all over my face, I quickly took a seat next to my friend Danica and took out my phone to look at my reflection.
     "Well, well, well Ms. Rocasta you know I do not appreciate when students come late to class, next time there will be no waiting understood." I shook my head and she began with the lesson. Danica poked me on the shoulder and I turned to talk to her, "I got your message this morning, are you okay?" I totally forgot I sent a message to all my friends that Glenn and I were no longer together, I shook my head yes and not wanting to be called out again in front of the class I whispered " I'll tell you everything at lunch." Class went by like always and the bell finally rung, since Danica and I have the same math class we always walk together but Danica had to get something in her locker and told me to go ahead. As I was walking into the classroom I saw someone I was begging not to see all day, I totally forgot that Glenn had the same math class before me. I stood there frozen but it seemed like he never saw me, before things would get even more awkward I ran out of the class to meet Danica at her locker but it turned out she was right at the door. Confused she pushed me inside to see what I was hiding from, she rolled her eyes and took my hand and dragged me to the group where we were sitting in, she was gave him the cut eye until he noticed and left the class. I hid my face in shame because half of the class probably saw me frozen like a dead fish near the door way, I really didn't want to be here anymore.
It was finally lunch time and Danica and I made our way through the cafeteria, I saw my best friends, Ruby and Marie waiting for me at the regular table we sat at. Although Danica was one of my closest friends she didn't get along with my best friends, she decided to sit with her other friends and told me to text her what happened between Glenn and I. "There you are!" Marie said standing up waiting for me to hug her, I greeted both of them and sat in my usual spot. I don't know what it was but my hands were cold all of a sudden "hey what's wrong Annabelle?" Marie said concerned, I just shrugged my shoulders and said that my hands were cold. Ruby all of a sudden gave me this smirk and said "I guess you just need your little boyfriend to hold your hand." I rolled my eyes and gave her the most serious face, it was one thing that I had to see him today and now I had to explain to them what happened. "We broke up, Glenn and I are no longer together."
